    r y a n o i r- ;D you should join me sometime. we could sell souls together.

sorry about all the white space... the character concepts will remain forever unfinished. animating isn't my thing, either, so feel free to mercilessly tear all of it to infinitesimal shreds. I don't mind. some clients just don't understand when you tell them "I'm an illustrator, not a fucking animator." blargh. I'm fated to learn everything the hard way. good thing.

skMOP- the key is usually that you find the more tolerable work/clients. |D;; this particular guy was a little...... not right. thanks though~~ all of those were a pain and took way longer than they should have orz;;; although I somewhat learned how to use ps's animating tools.

I always found artblogs quite silly. so I've decided to make an... inspiration-blog. take it however you want.

also I forgot to upload the more refined interface concept.
    so.
    there it is.

DEAR JAYTEA MY LOVELY do you fancy setting each other some weekly/routine challenges so that we can help each other improve? Only if you want to I mean! I think it'd be fun to do

    r y a n o i r- DUDE IT'S BAND CAMP I'M NOT GOING TO MAKE IT GDI YOU'RE GOING TO WIN

kingkostas- ahah thank you man =u= designing characters is loads of fun I didn't know I could have.

Walid- thanks bro, but you should be submitting to your sb instead of spending time on mine :b

gutss- n___n; ty~~ I feel like my faces are getting kinda wonky because I've been trying to draw from my head more rather than life or reference and that usually means screwing proportions, shapes, forms, etc.

WHAT A GRAND IDEA WOT WOT n___n;;; I'm just... not entirely sure how to set goals ie like 30 poses/day or like 12 portraits/day or something like that??

    ~~

hrrrrmmmmm I had two more pictures in that last post that didn't show up... ou well here they are. augh everything I post is a WIP...

Whoo you got insane dedication for a 15 year old. Really impressive and you got some pretty awesome stuff allready. I´m especially digging your sketches. It´s great to see you avoiding stiff poses and aiming for some realistic body action allready. Stick to that. As for your digis you colours are quite unatural. Try and use the HSB sliders in photoshop and play around with changing the saturation and blending different hues into your colours. It´s hard to truly explain but basically look at reall life and see how colours work. For now your colours tend to be a bit monochrome and saturated. Play with shit like different polarizations in your highlights in shadwos. For example a kinda blue highlight along with a very warm reddish shadow. Keep em coming.

    r y a n o i r- gdi that guy was originally sitting you know broski :T

    haha art will be a higher priority only because I have summer art homework orz;;;

jordyskateboardy- thanks so much man n____n; I'm actually kind of happy that the trying-for-more-natural poses were pointed out... that's exactly what I'm attempting D:

thanks for the digi tip too--I guess I hadn't fully realized it until you said it but monochrome is kind of a crutch for me especially with imaginative work... I either make it monochromatic or ~~colorful~~

cleaned up the hand a little... not entirely happy with this, but I think the narrative gets across and I'm just ok with that for now e____e; euuuugh I'm too tired to draw late at night anymore and get stuff done.

the characters: Korba, boy standing, Farthen, faded on the right, and Shalite, foreground on the lower right. they each have their own story about lying to others about themselves, but also in turn lying to themselves even more. ie the boy almost killed his father, instead ran away to live by himself so he wouldn't have to deal with him anymore. Farthen, the guy that might be dead whose ghost is sorta there, who says he was Shalite's father, but he isn't. and Shalite, who thinks that by drowning in a Spring and therefore restoring magic for others to obtain will somehow make her life worth something.

really good work in your self portrait. The rendering is very good and i would like to see it also in these imagination works. Not an accurate lighting but the way you rendered your values. Also as in 415# thats a rendering where you seem to know better where you are going. For now the last one seems a little rough. In overall you are doing great, so keep up the good work!!!

r y a n o i r- haha geez ;____; I think the best cure to my same-faces is moar referencing [which will be on the way dw], because the ones I pull from my head are made up of traits from references that I picked up and reinforced into habit... I actually felt for a long time that if I didn't draw my characters the same way all the time they would look different when I drew them and no one would recognize them. haha well I guess it's kind of gone a bit far but I felt the need to explain that because you're definitely not the first to tell me that and there is a legit reason why I'm really bad with that -shot-

kingkostas- thank you so much. ;___; your comments mean so much to me--really, honestly I don't think I can tell you how motivating it is aaah man I don't deserve it. thanks again, and yeah, the last one is really eugh; I'm just going to call it experimental and leave it at that.

    ~~

my camera scanning has always been poo. :T still life from art class and then an imaginative self portrait thinger that kind of got out of control. might finish it up after I finish summer reading, art homework, oooo and maybe band camp which is BY THE WAY SUCKING ALL MY ART TIME BAWWWWW
