leaving the back arm is a good decision but the new background looks like a cheap premade something, i would go for something handpainted.
the hands aren't bad at all for a first try! but they look a lot like a child's - may i ask how old you are? grown-ups' fingers are longer and more tapered.

That is so much better Tref, Now that the arm is gone from the background. Sorry I haven't stopped by in a while. The hand studies are nice, try to make more confident lines when drawing, yours are really scratchy. Keep it up.

hay those hands are comming together it might be easier to start off with a easier medium then digital and also start by beginning with broken down partsa and simpler line work.

And, for personal challenge, did a 90-minute challenge on drawing a monochromatic picture...

And just realized that the neck's wrong. T_T; ah well.

hey! i feared you would have disappeared - i'm glad you're still with us and working! nice update!
the pistol girl has really improved since the last version. i still find little nitpicks but it's a nice piece in general! i'd say move on to the next pic!
the still life looks like a lot of effort! three days - are you serious? full days? or a few hours distributed over those? i always find it difficult to spend too much time on the still lives since the light changes during the day (i've given up starting one around 5pm - that's a nightmare!). however - the ballpointpen is by far my favourite! i can really see its material. perhaps you could choose a more interesting lighting next time, to make something interesting if it is lit directly from top of it is difficult. and lay a piece of paper (or whatever) below your object, your table makes unnecessary trouble.

drawing apples and other fruits like that really helps and it dosnt take to much of your time to really studie emm and brush up

Trying to do a photo of Meredith Grey, of Grey's Anatomy (Portrayed by Ellen Pompeo) based on ref...and ended up BADLY. The irony of drawing a character of Grey's Anatomy and doing it wrong (and add the fact that it's a pun of Gray's Anatomy) is deliciously obvious

Ah... pretty good still lifes and portraits.

My first suggestion would be to use bigger brushes. The small you go, the more your subjects look like they have fur. A couple of these are pretty good with that so just keep it up!

And the following is just my humble opinion...
For portraits, it would hell of a lot easier for you to find pictures with real contrast. Taking something from a celebrity would be very difficult and more or less produce a very unwanted result because you may not be able to get away with it as well as the photographer. Pop stars, actors, actresses, the like will more likely than not have professional photographers who will overuse flash and make their face 'flawless' and with less relief than would a normal portrait. My suggestion would be to find more modest references that have more contrast and seem more natural.

hey! welcome back again!

great to see you trying out something new! that's quite a leap for you realism-wise!
shalite already mentioned that using a better lit ref photo will make your job much easier. be carefull that you don't just patch the features on the face but think about their form, their volume, the relation to the skull etc. don't worry about resemblance too much just try to create a believable human head!
and i don't think that the hair looks bad at all, you did a good job simplifying it, just block in the main masses like you'd paint everything else.
(if you want to try to paint photorealistic hair i recommend linda bergvists hair tutorial.)

i dont think thatsbad at all i think its pretty good and shows a lot of potential and skill your first few pieces done digitally are not going to look perfect its kind of like your first time working with crayons when you were younger maybe not to the eextent but theirs a similar learning curve involved

As you can see, the one in the back is more detailed; it's finished first. And it's still fresh at the beginning. And I delayed the picture for so long that the second one in the front has already thrown away by the time I finished drawing the first.

It's still delicious anyway. *Just kidding*

Hey, nice sketchbook.
I might suggest adding a bit of red hue into your skin tones to give it some life. Right now they look too pale and pasty.
In the photo referenced female portrait, compare the skin tones of your painting and the original - the original has more red/orange hue to it. Brings some warmth and life to it.

I like your last imagination drawing make more of those and women in dresses on post 48. also think about if you are using pencil pushing your darks so there is more contrast. and work on economy of line maybe. also great crit on my sketchbook you left, I really think it will help me a lot

Hello You've made progress since the start of this SB! Very nice that you have posted some pencilwork too, It's always fun to see people's "off-screen" work. You character ideas are interesting.
I'd suggest you do some studies to get the facial propotions right. self portraits from a mirror maybe? in your personal work you tend to have the faces a wee bit cartoonish, but I think you could use having deep knowledge of how the face looks in a realistic way. draw what you see. pencilwork is good for your perception of values too. you also seem to have a tendency of cropping out the feet in your pictures... maybe work on that?

....I'm quite amazed; time moves..both so slow and so fast. I can't imagine it's just 2 years, but on the other hand I also feel like I left my sketchbook here for so..long.

nice work here in this sketchbook, things are looking good so far. I have one main crit for you:

When you are doing portraits from reference if you soften the edges around the lips it will look more believable. Particularly your upper lip edges are quite sharp. Good luck with it!
