    Hugeharhar-Sketchbook -Storms and such 4/16/13

Here a few ink drawings I've done over the last few months.

I've been heavily influenced by several artists lately, mainly Franklin Booth, Audrey Beardsley and Joseph Clement Coll. I really recommend all three of them. I'm still learning and plan on doing plenty of studies from the three of them.

Anyways, thanks for looking. Oh, and let me know if I should make the first one smaller, if it's to crazy large or what such.

Wow. You cram a lot of detail into a page. Very nice.

Out of curiosity, how long did these take you? I really like the first one.

chriskot- thanks man. Each of them takes an average of a week or so, depending on how focused I am.
Bigpapraels- the bottom two are 10x16 canvas's and the top one is about the same size. I tried not to impose any actually representation in the top one, so it can hopefully be seen in different ways.

thanks for sharing the link, special K. Folks, this stuff looks awesome... 'specially in person with the HHHimself. I tend to like the ones that are more subjective and less abstract, but they're all really great, and highly detailed. the study / observation of Coll and others is helping ya out bigtime kenneth... keep GO ing, keep GOing

Underneath it all the mexican grime, a bright aqua blue layer from time immemorial

special K>>> gotta hand it to ya that that's a really solid likeness. definitely i think you did a great job too at getting these from 65Lb sketchbook paper into the whole jpg format. boxes straight. levels adjusted. it's a hassle kind of to have good scan-craftsmanship, but worth the effort i'd contend. cheers on the progress man... can't wait for the big show down in macon! take 2 on big prints at some point this week.

    catch up with ya tuesday

i really enjoy what you are doing with the ink and ink wash. do you have a certain process that you approach each work with? Also, with some of the more recent posts, are/were you creating a comic of some sort?

Jigglesmanure- Thanks dudlez. I appreciate the prints.
th-E- Most of my drawings I set up loosely based of photos of mine in pencils, and I use rapidiographs for all the inking. I love me some of them. And yes the last ones are all from a graphics novel I've been working on for awhile.

    And here's some more.

Sorry I've been missing for awhile.

Just finished the first of many huge ass drawings that I'm going to be selling.

    Each one $120.

Still enjoyin' the diversity of ink approaches and that supersize drawing is superbadass but $120 seems a bit low for something that inkredibly intense - a big ass visual field of penmanship. How large is the drawing? How long did it take?

Incredible level of focus and detail in your ink work. Truly inspiring. Look forward to seeing more!

    Overdue Update (02/22/09)

I've been working recently in painting with inks and gouaches. I'm still concentrating on mark making, and these are just studies I've been working on. I've also been handing these out to people I meet, at work or at a restaurant or anything.

I was about to type good morning, but it's noon time.

Most of these are studies, either from the park or some compositional studies from movies. The last two are my imaginationz.
