I like the shapes you are playing with in the pencils. Colored pieces are good too, they have nice muted colors. I think your pencils would benefit a lot if the lines were more confident.

Actually, I'm really interested in the artist for the Morrigan piece you posted: http://img226.imagevenue.com/img.php...123_445lo.jpg#

I can't find the artist because Choco is a terribly common name; I have some doujin from a Choco but it's a different style (and I assume different artist). Do you have any more information ?

Thanks for the replies you guys, especially those of you that left me criticism/advice. Well I'm really sorry to reply without dropping some updates for you guys, but I've left home to go see family and friends for the Holidays, and I won't have access to my computer/scanner and junk until after a few weeks - I didn't want to leave no reply either, so just a couple of quick responses here.

Natzuur-JK - Thanks, I feel the same way, more bots in the future..
    muzzoid - Thank ya
    Craz - Nice, thanks..
    Brun - Thank-you
Thomas Veil - Thanks for the tip, will watch out for that in the future.
TheGnoll - *takes seat next to you*... what are we looking at again? forget it, Movie time!!
Dave - Thanks for your post, it's all your fault - you make me draw boobies.
Wheeljack18 - Thanks, yeah everyone knows Adam Hughes, awesome stuff he does, wish he did more.
    donalfall - Thanks
    OmertA - Thanks much!
Rustveld - Thank you, more environments on the way.
    Hellfire - hehe, thanks
    sfa - Thank-you dude
george&guo - Thanks, I love your work... I always stop by your thread.
    Seage - Thanks man
    D@niel - cool, thanks
Clochette - Hey I love your work! So simple, so playful, I gotta come give you another visit.
    Mischeviouslittleelf - Ladies!
Niku - Thanks. Ladies don't get boring, do they?
Derlaine - Yeah I could really spend a little more time with the pencil I think...cleanliness is an often overlooked quality, I tend to draw really small too, in tiny sketchbooks. Opening up to a larger size might help. As for the pic in your link, That artist goes by the name LucyL. It looks like the website is closed now... but their Pixiv page is still up: http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=126196 You'll have to register and log in at Pixiv before you can see the artist's gallery.

Thanks and thanks again guys. Hope you all have a great Holiday. Life is short - enjoy your time with your family and friends. See you in the new year.

    Mini-update!

For better or for worse I didn't use any reference with this one, so there are some oddities - I also didn't want it to look too realistic or staged from a photo, so maybe I should have exaggerated the body expressions.

Thanks for the comments...Some environment junks here. The cityscape is more matte painting but still lots of digital paint on top. Didn't want it to look to smooth or realistic all around. Black and white environment is some kind or ruins with a temple.. Lots of texture used (maybe too much??) And some thumbnails as well. Ironically liking the ones on the right a whole lot more but did those after I started some of the finishes for the ones on the left.

Handful of doodles here just done for fun and to break the monotony. First an oldie that was reworked just a little..definitely time to hit those anatomy books again though. Couple of sketches inspired from some of the board members here...Janaschi, Clochette and others.. so much fun looking at that stuff it's so energetic and playful.. Sorry for going overtly sexual at the end - I promise I'm not some kind of sex crazed maniac (hmmm) I just really enjoy erotic arts, especially ones that are cute or playful. Ashley Wood nudes! ..so awesome. Some color junk in the next update.

I thought I had wrote feedback to you earlier but I guess I didn't.

Really awesome stuff here! I like your colors as you can go all out or keep it more in a range of certain color theme.
Your lines on the sketches are fluid and clean. Good pencil rendering as well.

Your enviro's are really top notch! Loads of details and accurate work with a great sense of atmosphere and strong perspectives.
Really awesome imaginative stuff as well.

I'd love to see some life drawings though, figure studies and landscapes?!

Keep up the good work and let's see some more

hey there extollere; wow that's some nice work you got here. great enviroments. and those sketches are great too. I really like the 3d structure in them. 'frenchguy' in perticular. In some pieces though, you do loose sight of the 3d structure, and that's when I think your sketch looses strength. like the pelvis in 'surprised'.
All in all, amazing stuff though.

hihihi, what a fun and loving skatchbook you have here I really like the pencil stuff and the enviros are really nice. Would like to see that thumb with the door and the strong light shining through it made into a proper piece, it would make for a nice one I think

kidult - glad you like it
YuZa - Thanks, haven't done life drawing in a while, need to get back soon
rasta -art - thank-you, that's my first experiments with matte painting, and it's a little amateur by my book, but I am practicing more.
ashess - definitely. Doing more anatomy studies currently to help iron out issues.
a.paul - I actually don't use the smudge tool, I find it to be a little too unstable for me personally but maybe I should experiment with it more. For areas that I want to get really smooth I draw a lasso and feather it a great deal. Sometimes I make my own feathers with quick mask painting with a soft brush, if I need feather variation, or selections that contain a hard edge on one side, and a feathered edge on the other. I then use gaussian blur because I can see a preview of it in real time. I paint on top of that in low opacity, and repeat until I have the surface effect I need. I use a bunch of different brushes but my current favorite is a square brush, with a slightly faded edge. I use this for blocking in shapes and colors just because I hate the look the default round brush gives at the end of strokes.
    Mischeviouslittleelf- thanks
    Gloominati - thank-you
    biglu, Josef K., tokidokizenzen -thanks

Just dropping this one practice portrait (from the av). I feel like i need to experiment more with exaggerated colors, and some unnatural effects. I'd like to push the abstract elements a bit so the practice pieces aren't so boring to me. Bleh, too busy, working on too many things at once. Will post more as I can. Thanks for watching you all.
