Hey guys, name's Nathan Andrew - been a member for some time here, but more of a lurker, I wanted to start a sketchbook thread to monitor my growth and get some feedback and criticism. Not sure how frequently I will update this guy, but I will try to put new images up whenever I can. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks guys. Derlaine thank you, yeah you know it seems like it might be tough to find really nice anime designs, there is a lot of cliche floating around out there but once you dig around you can find some incredible artists. I'd start listing them all but I wouldn't get to the end of this post. Daniel C thanks so much man, your pencils kick ass, I love that stuff.

Small update here, some little penciled chicas again, and some digital girls..playing around with some very very simple abstract shapes, and also tried to find a way to incorporate some shape containment... trying to utilize a blend of soft colors, but contain the shapes that I wanted to pop out with outlines.. not sure if it's working all that well, but none the less....

I think the shading on the realistic girls gets a bit too grey. It could be warmer especially on the terminator. But else - great stuff - nothing to critique. I like your linearts a lot. Gonna be fun to watch this thread grow

really nice work here! I love those digital girls you just posted, particularly the ones in the middle and on the right. Nice use of line. I think the one in the middle could use just a little bit more time spent on the hands, but the portraits look terrific

Great work here. Especially the female studies. An artist who might inspire you is Adam Hughes. He also uses soft gradients coupled with outline on his images to make his images pop!
