Hey all, thought I'd give this a try and get an additional boost to do more artwork, as well get some critique while doing it. Kicking off with few latest. Thanks in advance!

i like the second character alot, glad to see you starting a sketchbook
Haha ! fantastic stuff sept.
I love the mood on the first one. Not sure which of those two character's I'd rather meet, hehe.
As for crits. I don't have any at this point, but I hope to see more of your stuff here for sure.
- Freddy
Circle of Friendship
(I know, I know,... sounds gay)
Joe - Mario - YOU COULD BE HERE ! - Jebus Terminator

And also on the unjust fella.
But chiefly on the just, because

Here's a few personal pieces more. I'll try to update more often.

Hey Sept! Really inspiring stuff right off the bat.
I totally dig the first forest/monster piece you put up. In trying to think of how to strengthen it thought I thought of a couple small points. Finding a way to veil the monster could add to the drama of the scene and tell a bit more of a story. In this case, the monster is emerging and the character is just noticing it along with the viewer. Also the flip and pattern of the trees seems to make the composition a bit stronger.
Just thoughts...I'd love to hear what you think!
hjlkgah;klgsdjf I recognize that from 'It's Art!' mag's newsletter. :] Great work, man, glad you started a sketchbook. I love the atmosphere of the Red Riding Hood pic, but I'm not really sure how to help on composition. Can't wait to see more!

heya.. i really dig that first painting but (always those buts) i believe brennan is totally right. the horizontal flip has a gigantic effect on your work. it is a promotion from super awesome to ultra atomic mega stunning i believe.
can't wait to see more from you. take care
Thanks Brennan for the good critique! I totally agree with you, that the composition is more dynamic that way. I think I saw too many things to fix and sort of got scared to go that way. Next time I'll do better
Thanks Shalite and mAkAm too!
Here's a character
Some enviroment thumbnailsprogress progress
Stellar beginnings to a sketchbook so far, your work feels like it has a heightened sense of epic idealogy waiting to come out in one of your pieces sooner or later. I'm looking forward to your progression, Sept.
Keep doing you

very interesting work Sept13 :]
Hey Sept! Nice Thumbnails. It's easy to see potential in almost every one. Did you have some kind of common process for them? I noticed some look very ref'd from photo and/or movie capture while others look very abstract. Can't wait to see what's next.
hey hey, nice update.. the thumbs are showing some great depth! keep sharing. i'm coming back![]()
Thanks mAkAm, BrennanPM, Towarlock and Vulgar
I used some national geographic references for the thumbnails, but mostly did them from head - that's why they became pretty repeative in the end, using the same compositions and tricks again and again.
I've been pretty busy with work but I've managed to get some spare time stuff done again.
I've just recently started to oil paint for the first time in my life, and it's a blast! Here's a few of my first observational paintings that I've done - I've got a long way to go, it's very confusing
I also added one digital enviroment sketch that I did some time ago but forgot to show anyone.
I'm glad I don't see anymore of those Marko Djurdjevic post-apocalyptic character copys of yours. But to say something positive, I really like that character in a space suit or what ever, but I think the other leg is too much faded out. Yes I realise the depth thing you're trying to accomplish but too much is too much.
The love the colours in the first post dude and that future knight thingy in that post is neat aswell. More of that plzxor![]()
HarvesterSam: I'm glad also, but it thought me alot so I don't regret itThe leg looks wierd because I didn't know how to make it look any better.
Wasker: Thanks
Here's a collection of pictures again. One personal robot picture that I've managed to find time for. One oil study and rest are work stuff.
The snowy one's are for a intro of a show, I had 2 days to a half-day with each background.
You can view the whole animation here: http://sept13.org/talvi/joulukalente...on_081110a.mpg
Rest are for another project that I really don't know how to describe, backgrounds anyways.
Awesome stuff, love the environment paintings, wonderful colours and depth. Cool, keep it coming![]()
Shoe studies are fantastic, I also appreciated that you posted those environment thumbnails. Its something I've been trying to grasp for a while and that looks like a very logical place to improve.
Also, I really enjoy the effect of that faded out leg, despite the complaints you've received.
Man i love those latest winter/mountain/spring(?) enviros!
Keep up the oil studies too! They'r lookig great.
Thanks a bunch everyone
Had some spare time and inspiration finally!
Wow, really nice sketches in here!
some awesome stuff. thnaks for sharing, very interesting. the black and whites are sweet.
Thanks Germ-x and AvisNocturna!
Been a while since I posted here, but I got more time now so I -should- do better in the future!
Here's some non-work related stuff, just for my own pleasure.
Wow, great updates! Can't wait to see more
The environment sketches are really inspiring too.
Do you normally work grayscale to color even in your final color pieces? Or are those thumbs just grayscale to keep them simple and quick?
Thanks Strassenpenner08!
retardedmonkey: Mostly from grayscale to color, but usually only in the sketch phase. I'm no good in coloring and I don't want to repaint too much
The enviroment sketches were just study.
Here's a quickie before bed:

great SB sofar. i love the variety. the nipples on the uniform remind me of batman forever, but of course not as gay. that winter neighborhood reminds of 30 days of night kinda. sorry if u dont get these references lol
