about 3 and a half weeks ago i was asked on my facebook page, if i actually worked at mcdonalds. Yes, I do. Full time, kitchen crew. I go to work, come home and paint, sleep for 3-4 hours and do this every day during the week. When asked why I worked there, I said I have to start paying for my diabetic supplies myself, because as of february 22 i am 21, and therefore no longer covered under my parents insurance. As of right now, its about 500 a month. I still live with my parents. O_O about an hour later i get a pm from wes burt, asking me if i had ever gotten comissions, and if not, if was interested in some. Ive been trading emails with him for about 3 weeks now. I told him what i was interested in doing. Work for wizards of the coast. He said i had a good portfolio, the only thing missing was some strong narrative/ thought out illustrations. he gave me two mock card briefs to do and here is one of them....

Looks great man. That last lady figure up top looks really nice. Sure, her proportions might be a bit elongated, but I think you've captured the mood and pose of the figure well. The illustration looks really cool too. Maybe a bit too dark overall for a card illustration, but it could be a monitor thing. Good luck with your situation man!

That gryphon pic just sucks you in, very large amount of potential. The dark one with the gargoyle is hard to read, but with a bit more to see, could also be really good. All in all, i think you have a voice of your own that should be heard, so i really hope you can get a shot at something better than flippin' burgers. Good luck, you deserve it.
