    Question Who was that artist?

Hey guys, I've been trying to find an artist that I had run into around a year or two back. He was from Tokyo, not sure if he was Japanese or Japan-american. He was very prolific and had a 5 star sketchbook thread, his stuff was very stylized and he would typically produce sheets with tons of sketches on them. All really cool stuff and lots of original ideas and concepts! I wish I had saved his stuff earlier, and I'm not sure when he stopped posting.

Any help would be appreciated, its been bugging the crap out of me and I'd like to see his stuff again.

Could it be Toni Koro? He was around quite a while ago though, maybe 4 years ago. I don't know if he's japanese either, but he lived in Japan I think.

Not Toni Koro either, similar way of doing work, but its not the guy, too much traditional methinks. Tensai is still around, so cross that..And Zhu Zhu is Chinese.

    Man..

I remember this guy had a very large sb thread. I remember also that he mainly posted sheet after sheet of digital sketches along with some traditionally done pages. Each sheet would be covered in different sketches of characters, vehicles, props etc.

Its not Zanzan either, in case someone was to bring that up. This person no longer posts here from what I can tell.

was it the guy who painted on rice paper, like samurai looking slightly anime characters? he took photos of his desk with pretty large traditional inkpieces like above described. I cant remember his name though
[url=http://galleryonefone.blogspot.com[/url] This would be my gallery in Sweden

This would be my Pleine Air blog

I looked everyone up, its not Achadobu, not Magic Man seeing that hes American, not Salaryman, Hideyoshi was a maybe but its not it either.

I think Timpaatkins was on to something, I remember he would take pictures of his workspace some times. But things to keep in mind.

    A) He was Japanese, 100% sure to broaden down your possibilities.
    B) He might have had his own studio, or might have been in the Japanese animation industry, or comics, considering the nature of his work.
C)He did quite a bit of digital sketching in comparison to traditional sketching.

Funny that I came across this thread, since my name was mentioned.

Yes, I am probably the guy you are thinking of. I never lived in tokyo, I've lived in Nagoya, Japan for the last 10 years. And if you want to confirm my work, probably you might want to have a look here: http://web.mac.com/tonikoro

And right this week, after 10 years of being here.. I am on the way back to the states.
