    apocalypse now XD

    hello^^

im new to this forum but i hope i can get answers :3

because its really annoying, that on so many sites, people arent answering....and so....they also dont take any critizm...

so...here are some works of mine^^ made for a hypothetically game for a contest^^ (the game should be about something apocalyptica future, genetic is used many years before and now there is a human sized "fairy" who wants revenge for destroying the earths nature) ^^

well...not the best idea but i hoped it would be something new

edit: ouch...>.< the sketch shouldnt be that big...uhm...

    Here are a few crits
use a hard brush. The soft brush makes it all blurry.

add alot more tones and colours to everything. I know your trying to make it look dead but you have the same grays everywhere.

In the landscape the log is only defined by the lines and is the same colour as everything else around it

You have this colourful sky yet non of the colours are reflecting onto the surfaces

The character has highlights which are facing away from the sun

You can still see your line art

    and you spelt apocalypse wrong

    Hope this helps

maybe i should say...i didnt got it finished^^ but anyway...the critizm is hepling^^ even if i just thought the same ...hehe^^

btw. do you know how to "color" white sand? i couldnt find much references...not to say...i havent found any XD whit white sand and such lightening effects...O.o i dont know what to look for...

the highlights on her...uhm...maybe i should make it clearly that these green light dots around the plants make some light too but i agree...i didnt noticed that her "front" leg is lightened too much O.o

i dont know if i want to "erase" the line art^^ because i wanted to bring it into my art style^^
but im still thinking about it

well...i think i spelled it wrong because im from germany XD and i forgot its written with "c" here instead of "k XD

    but I'll change it

If you want something that's similar to white sand, try looking up ash (can be a light gray) or even snow.
    Best of luck!

The first one is completely disproportionate, you get a pin-head look, due to the head being slightly too small for the torso. The arms are way too long for the torso, especially being evident in the lower section of her arm.

Best advice from me to tackle this, use Comparative Measurement. First draw the head (have the planned pose sketch out), use the head's size to compare to the rest of the body. Okay there's approximately 7 heads in a human body, and one head fits into a upper arm and lower arm each. (Making an arms general length approx. two heads) The torso is two heads. And an upper leg and lower leg are both 2 heads. (Thus being 4 heads generally)

Her chest appears somewhat flat, due to the tones not highlighting the shape of her body.

Once you've fixed these factores, you can the emphasize the Horror aspect by darkening the tones of the colours and adding a texture to the metal parts.

its true...the arm is too long....and proportions arent correct completely...

but how to make the props correct if i wanted a perspective from a lower view?

You'll have to experiment. Personally I think you should have made a foreground to establish that we're looking in from a distance, and [possibly] down on her. You should also use greater shading, to emphasize depth, what limbs are further and closer.

But first of all, you need to clean-up the pose.
