JimahJames - As a matter of fact my hair is kind of long. Hehe! Do we have similar styles?..Hmm, perhaps.

Man it's been a slow period. My head feels completely dried out. I'm still struggling with the t-shirt design. I feel stuck everytime I look at it. Here's an update....

Right now I'm stuck with the guy in the coffin - he comes off as flat and I don't know how to make him pop. And yes, I know the heart is HUGE! Haha!
There will be more blood as well.....lots.

I'm adding a second but subtle lightsource to give the zombies a slight silhouette.

Here's just boring study. I don't think I got it right.

I started off with just blobs and worked my way from there. You can tell I'm not used to this method. :p

And finally a page from my sketchbook. Like I said - a slow period.

I would REALLY appreciate some feedback even though I don't update that often. Thanks!

Here's a micro update. I've darkened it, sharpened it, added some blood and texture. Will start adding that second lightsource soon.

Hey Christoffer,
Really like that last one, good convincing anatomy! It's really morbid hehe. Is there going to be a background? Maybe some sort of a graveyard with an abandoned church or something like that. As for the crits for that picture...maybe there is too much detail going on with the zombies, all that wrinkled skin kinda distracts my attention. What is your focal point here? What i do like is the triangle composition, very good. I'm very curious with the end result! I'll keep checking back,

i think the focal point is the face of the zombie in the middle! this was the first thing i looked at!
but i would add some texture to the casket!

Good updates man. I feel your zombie peice should have a background or something going on. I think it always helps to start with some kind of background to establish lighting. Just keep working at it your stuff's looking good.

Hey, folks! I'm back. I'm all finished with my project. It took way more time than it should've, but at least I can move on now. Phew!

...and yes, I do suck at updating this thread on a major level. Shame on me.

On another note - from now on I will also post all my finished work in the 'finally finished' section.

I did actually add a cemetery with an old crypt in the background but my client and I felt it would distract the viewer from the focal point, which is the group of zombies. Regarding detail, well, I'm a detail freak so I tend to go all out on that aspect. :p

Pyroclasm00 - Thanks, man! One thing I need to keep in mind from now on, is to draw the surrounding env before adding characters.

Dammit! I've procrastinated enough. It's time I started throwing up some pics again. I've been stuck in the death metal swamp, designing covers for a long time now. So here's my latest cover design for my friend and neighbor. The front is inspired by the Re-animator movies. The back is just something I thought would compliment the theme.

I'll soon upload a bunch of sketches that aren't as focused on death and decay. Enjoy these for now. Cheers!

Hey Cristoffer, thank you for leaving a word in my sketchbook. Your book is coming along really well and the improvement shows itself. Digging the diversity of your subjects as well, especially all the decaying stuff. The latest updates are looking good in the anatomy.. the black and white scheme works I think for the dark subject. Sorry I cannot provide any technical critiques since I am still beginning, but keep pushing!

Now then: I've been so unbelievably uncreative these past three-four months, it's imbarrassing. This is all I've come to sqeeze out of my dry brain so far. Mostly poop.

The big female head was inspired by Shunya Yamashita's awesome artwork. The rest is from head.

WoW! Awesome progression with your work man. Your line work and forms have matured beautifully. I really liked the demon with the teeth, very interesting concept. Keep up the great work man, kudos.
