    Angry Funny think

I guess that everyone here is too busy to read posts.

I posted in the Classroom for All and got absolutely no respone.

I must assume that everyone is either too busy or just really do not give a crap to help me out on where to start.

Well I will only check this place a couple of more time and then will remove myself from your list and be gone from here.

I have enough people in this world who can ignore me already.

You can't expect everyone to reply to everything, It would help if you provide a link to the original post, i'm not going to look for it, there's nicer, patient people who like input too.

If you're going, bye, your loss.

Complaining get attention, yes, but not the kind you want when asking for help.

    Original Message Link

Hi and thanks for a response, I have been looking at the dates of replies and it was apparent that the thread was not being responded to I had joined this group to find out where to get started and thus thought that the classroom for all was the place to begin. When replies take a long time people do become frustrated, like I do.

Probably the difference is that I have learned that if you do not make youself heard then nothing happens. Others will just not come back and thus never really get anything out of this at all.

So while the message was a bit crass, I did finally get a response.

Here is the original message link.

    http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...2&postcount=26

Sorry if my message seemed rude, but apparent lack of action demanded me to make myself heard. There appear to be several threads that have not action going on. Several of them in the Classroom for All section.

G'day Bill and welcome to the boards! It is true that some threads sometimes see very little action but we just got to persevere because everyone has lives as well and when the replies do come they are very appreciated.

So, you wanted to know where to start. I'm not very good at knowing what is a good computer and what is not but something generally told around here is that it really does not matter as long as it does what you want it to because in the end it is only a tool. Also most beginners get told to really really REALLY consider forgetting about the tablet as your primary tool and just stick to the good old pencil and paper to begin with.

My thinking is you can go either way, but i suggest you try to make yourself carry a sketchbook when you cannot draw on a computer and draw as often as you can. And of course enjoy it too or otherwise the habit won't stick.

If you have not yet come across it then check this thread out:

It is about the most inspirational thread here, but there are many others. However that particular one could prove very useful to you. If you are willing to make the effort and are able to find the time, then if you follow the same exercises as MindCandyMan did then my guess is you cannot go wrong. Even if you find yourself not getting the same results, that kind of dedication will not go unnoticed (i guarantee it) and you will get lots of replies and helpful hints from the more knowledgeable people around here.

A personal hint from learning to keep in mind when learning from a book (from personal experience) is that when you finish learning a certain technique or exercise or anything, do not allow time to pass before applying it to real life study. So if you learn how to do the basics shapes for drawings hands and heads then do them during the week as often as you can. I know it sounds like a very silly thing to mention, considering how basic it is, but you would be surprised how many of us fall into the trap of thinking we should grasp it just because we did it a couple of times when copying it from a book.

Please stick around, get yourself a sketchbook and share your learning curve with us, i'm sure you are bound to find some people that will regularly pop in to say hi and see how you are going, even if it takes a while to develop.

    Hope some of that helps!

Hi bill and welcome to CA.
I have to tell you that the creation of a sketchbook here in CA will help you develop your skills.Ok in the starting act it will not be easy cause you may not get to many replies, but when people see that you are serious about it and its updates(mostly updates, for example if you manage to upload every day or two days it will become popular soon) and also if you also comment other sketchbooks.
Go there and start a sketchbook and let the people see your progress and give you some advice.
I am sorry you didnt get any reply earlier but maybe you needed to post your question in art discussion thread(not sure )
I hope i will see you in Sketchbook area soon(throw me a pm with a link to your sketchbook when you start, so i will not lose you)

    See ya

    Thank you for your responses.

Things will be a bit slow for me for a few days.

I just moved and do not have my internet connection at home at this time.
I am using my internet at work to post this.

Can you tell me how to directly put a picture into my messages?

I seem to only be able to put in the link to a picture.

Bill - as far as I am aware, this classroom is no longer alive. See the dates of the most recent posts and my sig for more info.
I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. All of the advice that I have to offer can already be found in the following links. Thank you.

Perspective 101, Concept Art 101, Games Industry info,Oil Paint info, Acrylic Paint info, my sketchbook.
