    chow 124, female space smuggler

females isnt my strong point, so i would appreciate some crits on my anatomy, aswell as the overall composition, as it is

the basic layout is a female space smuggler, caught by security, and turning around with an expression of amusement, innocence on her face. the brief specifies her as asian/jamacian in origin.

you have really cool concept here, caught in the act look, and set it up quite well too. of course the siren alarm light might be too difficult to render (for me at the time being!!), but the point is you've manage to visualize it in your mind, and with skill gained as time goes by hopefully you 'll be able to render it one day, i know i'm working towards that!
just a quick sketch of the pose i was thinking when you mentioned your concept. but your pose is fine as it is, just wondering if you can push the pose further, giving it more mischievousness to it apart from the trying to put up an innocent look while she slowly reaches for the button on her palm that will teleport her to a few hundred metres away!! good luck and always an inspiration to see fellow CA pushing their boundaries further!

zenichi's critique is a good one. I'd say look at some reference photos, do a bunch of loose quick thumbnail sketches to explore the pose and anatomy- don't settle on something too quickly, give yourself time to explore and correct before you really get deep into carrying through an image. Keep it up.

    wip, part deux

tried a different pose on the arms, going for the airlock button and turned the head further, those 3 quarters heads are tricky

thanks for taking the time to crit my work

I would like to see more of an extreme pose.. like if the shot was taken as the character is in motion going for the airlock. You could perhaps try to act it out on your own.

    and then some values

another update, decided to stick with the pose ive got, I swear, this refinement part is where i get majorly stuck. cant get clean nice lineart to save my life, so have a mix of crosshatch shading and softer values in this one. i need to go look at some tutorials to get me started on how to work past lineart

as always, all crits very wecome, thanks to all above who took their time
