I'm gunna have to agree with realextension. I think your compartmentalizing your studies too much without applying them to the big picture. I think its beneficial to always try to apply what you're studying to at least a full figure if not a full image to really see what you've retained.

realextension: Hey duder. I do tons of full figure work either on paper, Photoshop, and or Sketcher. I don't usually save any of it as it's just doodling away. I am far from limiting my self I always try to push my self these study's are just some thing I do to keep my brain moving and trying to build the visual library in my head.
