ok so this is about 9 hours of work and it's the first time ive done a digital painting of a human (ive done one of an apple before). I realize the perspective of the head is off, and I know the hair is horrid, I had no idea how to draw it, or the beard. Does anyone have a good tutorial for drawing hair/beards? i couldnt find a decent one on Google.

The thing about hair, is you don't need to draw every individual strand of hair.
Maybe try painting in the hair os one mass, first.. then use some highlights and shadows to help define the form.
That and as far and painting from photos goes... you should really try to find better photos to paint. The blurriness, lighting and focus are all a little akward. Try fining proper headshots that look professional to paint from, if anything..
