    50 gestures for Spartan thread.
wow these were hard to keep ideas for new poses and emotions to try to convey.
I tried to get some perspective in a few of them. Some were better then others, i tried not to spend to much time on them as I wanted to not do much in the way of details.

Long day at work today did a couple doodles in a log book.
When I got home I started a painting and Pshop locked up on me
(damn cheap laptop of mine) and all the layers were merged and stuff so I just deleted it.
Well here are a couple of the doodles from the log book.

I really like those gestures. Nice!

On the last bunch, look up some tutorials on rendering form and light. On the sphere, for example, it's quite interesting, but the part of the sphere furthest from the light isn't the darkest, because it has some light reflected on it from the surface it's resting on. In fact, the darkest part should be very near the transition from light to dark.

I couldn't find any good threads just now. If I find one, I'll post the link.
Please take a look at my sketchbook

I'm just a beginner, but I'm trying desperately to get better.

    ah pretty cool man thanks.
I was looking at the Thread by ccsears and thought the hatching stuff was pretty cool. So I tried some at work.
I'll have to take a look at it some more and try some more out.
I ordered a couple moleskine sketch books and a pen set off Amazon last night so I am going to have some more new stuff.

I normally don't do much disturbing stuff but I was in a fowl mood and this was an Idea I had.
I am working on it in Photo shop.
this is just a quick sketch up of it. I hope I can make it interesting in P shop.
Might have to make it an ongoing side project.

    Self portrait
I have felt like try'n to do some hatching.
I know the area around the eyes did not some out like I wanted but
overall I am pleased. I am going to try a few more I think till I can get the hang of what directions work best for me and such.

This was done on an normal piece of typing paper landscape.

another this one with a sharpie. Came out a little flat I think. I messed up on the bottom lip. I tried to show some changes in value in my beard but didn't work so well.

I like that last update with the insane crosshatching. It has a cool look to it, albeit a bit busy. Maybe add a little bit of color to it? it doesn't need much but i was thinking if some bright color was added to the shirt or glasses, it might look cool. cheers'

here is a little update on the devil Nun in the 1st post.
basically tossed a a red Gradient in there and worked on the blending.
I think its a bit better. as I get better I will have to go back and work on it.
I want to do a little stool for her to sit on, and I would like to have some type of back ground but I can't come close to pulling the one I want off.
I was thinking about putting her in a big Catholic church, maybe up on the stage, off to the side of the pope or something.

    lamp

    Just a quick sketch session.
I ordered a few Hogarth books and one on perspective today, so I can get going. I know allot of people don't care for the Hogarth style but, that is KINDA what I would like to be able to draw like.
So once those get back in I am going to start up the pen and pencil stuff allot, or maybe I will try to do it in Photo shop. who knows.

Oh and th cool thing is My iMac is in the mail, so I should have a decent computer to use here in a week or so!!!!!
Damn I am so sick of this POC laptop.

Ugg the last couple days have been crazy busy here at work.
I am working on learning Maya in the little spare time I have so I haven't drawn much at all. I need to get cracking and try to bang some stuff out. I did get in a set of 16 pigma Micron pens I went over a couple anatomy drawings I had done and "inked" them. I don't have a firm grasp on the technique but I LOVE these Pens. the brush pens I got are pretty awesome, even though I don't know how to use them.
