    Heleu,

This is my first ever post on CA, but have been folowing the work of artists around here for some years. It's as inspiring asmuch as it is painfull to browse around here. So much genious...
Hope to make a career out of concept art and am open to all forms of critique anyone can put into decent words. "It's sucks", however true, is not constructive critisism I understand.

Here are some more recent sketches, in time colour updates will folow.

    Cheers

**edited the next day: The first few are horsemen of the apocalypse sketches. Wanted to try a new look and approach. It's Famin, Pestulance and War. Still working on Death as the supreme aspect.

We'll be new together then (have been lurking for years as well, and i completely understand the inspiration/pain thing).

You have some great stuff there; your best asset so far is your sketches, the line work and detail is really nice to see. I look forward to seeing more.

    Things & Robot updates

    Thanks all for the coments
Here are some updates of the robots made for my emam/game-concept and bachelor
work. The bachelor work was something on immersion and character design.

The colors of these designs arent clean and the overal is half done. Couldn't spend
more time, at the time and am struggeling with non organic things. These models are
made to find a style for types and models of robot, Like clockwork-, hydrogen- or
    steampowered robots.

    2H speedy's and xmas card

    2H speed paints.
Want to do a series of two hour speed paintings, in colour, one layer and try not to use too many tricks like saturation or colour balancing and layer effects.

This is where I stopped after two hours. The idea started as "something with a tropical island" and became this.
Might do some needed distance/lighting changes, although that's beside the point.

    More later.

    Xmas speedy...
I painted a christmas card last christmas. We (Son, lady and I) wanted to cheer up the "Great Pine".

For practice; I wanted to do it without a line drawing/sketch underneath the painting like I always do.
I also wanted to figure out odd lighting without tricks or layer effects, but painting. (weakness)
It took about 4,5 hours and needs many touch ups. I was on a tight time frame with many Xmas interruptions and duties ;P

    Monday speedy's

Made these today, inspired using pictures from "Dream Worlds" by Hans Bacher.
So had some examples to work with.
Everything was about more "painting in colour" studies and speed.

I did not count the time for smoking brakes, taking a piss or eating. Nerrvishhss...
The time under the pages is drawing time. Hope you like.

Hey, ye bastid, interesting new toys you're bringing

Hm.. you need to break free some more when you're doing the speedily bits, they somehow seem somewhat forced. You sure are getting better at colours and their clearity when colouring! Eh.. if that makes sense. Nwah, methinks you know what I mean, ye younger twin.

    Heya Tangrim!
Thanks matey for the comments, it's true that I've forced these pictures and am still unsettled by doing speedies. Glad you saw it. Coming from you, I am happy to hear my colours are picking up, nevertheless, have a long ways 2go.
I will do more loose speedies soon, these are just variations of existing pictures.

theUNKNOWNsketcher; thank you sir/ma'm, I try.

Working in this hur for my sister's birthday. Rushing it all because I don't have much time left and need to colour the thing. Also wish I chose a more dynamic angle and started in paints... Old habit, line art .

    Art test for Spellborn

    Hiya,
I recently did an art test for a Dutch company called Spellborn NV.
They've created "The Chronicles of Spellborn", an on-line RPG worth
checking out. One of the cool features is that they use "actual combat"
instead of the usuall battle system and variables used in games like Warcraft
    or Warhammer online.

For more info go to: www.tcos.com

I didn't get the position, because they were looking for a lead artist first
before filling another art position. Shame really, had I known that,
I'd have spend every waking hour on it. -_-'

Here are sketches and pieces I made for their test, enjoy.
Please C&C or advice me as much as you'd like
