I really like the second to last portrait. Your digital work has a heavier and painterly feel that I like. I want to see more!

Don't listen to Kenneth, he's out of his mind on so many different levels.
Haha!
Alright. MAIN critique. So far your drawing skills (contour) are getting more precise and present a stronger representation of subjects than before. Although, I don't think you're brushstrokes are working. It seems that you're painting in "glazes", like layers of colors/values. Try out solids for a while, and you'll notice a different. What I mean is, turn off the pen pressure stuff and see where it goes. You'll discover a new way of quickly getting values and colors down without the see-through effect of mass brushstrokes.
Keep it up
Also, I forgot to schedule you a time for your haircut! haha

excellent updates lately man, looks like your exercises and improvement has gained speed in this last period, kudos!
keep sharing!
ciao
Good to see you working hard Eric.
On that pic next to the dollar bill, the bottom girl's right hand seems to be the right hand lol. Might wanna watch out for silly stuff like that. (I'm guessing it's not the palm facing the viewer due to the rigid structure that's usually present on the back of the hand.)
What assignments have you been getting for your classes?
I've got some figure drawings from my digital class, but I couldn't upload them yet. I'll try to get my hands on them sometime tomorrow. Sorry for the fake update.
Awesome sketches and studies here! Keep at it. For the digis try lay down shapes with a big brush and then work in detail with smaller brush - could help fro the spotty look.
Hey!
Your woman designs are nicely done, congrats!
Cheers,
Nice start, like the figure drawings. Id say when your painting digitaly try to nail down the tone and fill it in rather than darkening with hatchy stokes if that makes sense. It causes a distracting texture imo like on this girls face.

i was almost confused about your comment on mine, ha n/m
oo i saw me! i had no idea you were drawing me
my fav is post 22, your monochrome stuff is the best
a personal request: more monsters!
You're becoming pro pretty quickly ay!
what does your teacher think of your digi life paintings?
kidult- thx for the crits, everyone says that to me, I guess it just hasn't sunk in yet. Cheers.
Jorge Gecov-Thx
MonkeYoakum- Thx for the crit. That one was going nowhere fast. i could see the problems with it when I posted it, but alas, I did not backtrack to fix.
niyama- Thx Simone. I didn't mean to confuse you with my comment. I totally agree with you about my monochrome pieces. I just want to get a better grasp on color since I know it's one of my weak areas.
Med- Thank you, thank you. I really like the digital class, my teacher said my work is some of the best in the class. She really likes my work, and keeps coming around to my side of the room to tell me things to do so I can keep a clear portfolio of my work to see progression throughout the semester.
Alright, well, I just got a new external HP monitor. you know the one that you turn 90º so you don't have to scroll down on a web page, or in my case, I can see the entire photoshop document and work on it without scrolling down. I also got a Nikon D40 camera to take reference pictures of wilderness and cityscapes and what not. So I should have a lot of pieces rolling in. So keep in touch. Cheers.
This is the shittiest piece I've done probably. It's a self portrait that I tried to full around with for a little while. I really like it but i also really hate it. I guess I need to full with the brightness on my new monitor. Crits please.
P.S.- Now that I look at it, it reminds me of the old star trek. Captain Kirk. Haha!

Hey dude. I see you're posting more regularly. Very nice! I really like the shading and lighting (with color) on your quick self-p's. They're looking good.
Some of your figures that you posted are very light (the line work on them). Try tweaking the brightness and contrast in Photoshop (or whatever prog. you use).
Nice. Keep it up.

Good pencil work in your posts,
I couldn't see everything though, most show up as "x's".
Which probably means you have posted a lot of art and my crappy isp can't handle the awesomeness!

hey there eric,
seeing the way you work it seems that you some times get your values mixed up while working in color.
i think that is what happened with your post 80.
the drawing is spot on but the value structure isn't though.
i suggest blocking darks and lights first, make them definite while modeling out the muscular forms of the face before getting into the middle values.
i hope that helps
