michaeljared: Thanks a lot for the tip. I'll keep that in mind.
MrChow: Thanks. Glad you like it.
wokjow: Thank you very much!
Here's two recent pages from my pencil-and-paper sketchbook. The first is a group of really quick self-portraits I did in the bathroom mirror a few days ago and digitally coloured up today. Probably 5 minutes each, on average. The bottom one is probably the furthest off simply because I wasn't wearing my glasses when I did it. I underestimated my nearsightedness.
The second page just has a few miscellaneous doodles on it. I did the landscape in post #173 based loosely on that quick scribble in the middle.
Another little alien bug, step-by-step.
Thanks! Mite-like is pretty much what I was aiming for (with a bit of turtle mixed in).
Alright. So I haven't updated in a while because my video card died and my computer went with it. Luckily it was still under warranty so I managed to get a few hundred dollars off of the price of a new, better computer. I still haven't quite finished reinstalling everything, but I have gotten my tablet and Photoshop set back up.
Scans of the things I drew in my computer-free period will come later. For now, here's a little garden gnome.
Today I reinstalled all of my favourite Photoshop brushes and drew another spaceship with them.
Those self portraits look great. But im really liking the spaceship and that bug.
Thanks!

Very creative works you have here, the bug is especially well done.
Thanks cgaddict!
Here's another sheet of hands I did a couple of weeks ago.
Made some improvements to the ship image.
A portrait of t i m.
Quick leporidae studies (rabbits & hares), and a sloppy picture of myself drawing a sloppy picture of myself drawing a sloppy picture of myself, etc., etc. (touched up in Photoshop)
Another enviro. I don't think I'm quite done with it yet.
A photostudy and two little still life pictures (an apple on a table and some batteries on a couch). They all feel a little too flat for my liking.
I did a couple of portraits of my friend Tyler. Ref'd from one of the promo pics for a pretty cool band that he is in.
fresh sketchbook you have going here
really dig those still lifes man
keep it up and keep having fun
till next time

Thanks guys!
Here's a WIP for C.O.W. #175 - Great White Carnivorous Worm With Young
Update on the C.O.W.
Okay, I think it's pretty much done now. My first finished CA contest entry since COW #103! I think I've improved a bit since then.

I really enjoy the rough handling in some of your sketches! However some of your pieces might lack a bit of edge variation (especially with Unsharpen Mask, which eliminates a lot of the nice soft edges).
wow, the first painting in #165 is very impressive and i get goose skin viewing it. it reminds me the film 2001 space odyssey.
very cool, very good, go on!
xinranliu: Thanks! I definitely agree about the edge thing. Recently I've been trying fix that to an extent by going over certain areas with a soft brush after I've sharpened it. Still working on a better solution though.
carboncillo: Many thanks!
Here's a little experiment I did a few minutes ago. Also, the voting is on for C.O.W. #175 now, so get over there and vote for your favourite!
A city doodle, and my current progress on COW #176: "Red Eyed Woolly Spotted Howler". I still need to add all of the environmental stuff and effects necessary to make it look dynamic.

My entry for COW176 is complete! Voting should begin either later today or early tomorrow.
Some sketches for COW #177 (which I almost definitely will not finish), a doodle with a giant octopus, and an alien fish I made last night to test out a very cool little program called Sculptris.
