Thanks jijge! I have to admit that my pencil sketches don't actually have the range of values you're giving me credit for though. I just push the values with Photoshop before posting them to make them read better. Glad you received something out of it anyway.

Today I tried mixing 2D and 3D for the first time. I just started with a simple rectangular prism rendered in Blender and worked off of it in Photoshop. Nothing fancy.

Made a couple of little creatures in what began as an attempt to mimic the style of Prometheus|ANJ and sort of drifted off course. If, through some strange twist of fate, you have never seen his stuff, you should feel obligated to click that link. He's definitely one of my favourite artists here.

I'm quite happy with the way the little bluish blob turned out (except for its right eye, which sticks out a bit too much). Not as pleased with the green thing.

Whoops. Letting this thread slide again. Time for another little update.

Two things:

1) Some sort of unicellular alien thing. Rather pleased with it.

2) A quick smiley face.

I very rarely draw people from imagination (and not too often for ref either), so I'm not very good at eyeballing anatomy. I need to break out of my comfort zone more often though, so more characters it is. Here's a homeless guy I drew ultra-speedily after reading your comment. Only spent about ten minutes on the line art and I'm not pleased with the half-assed experimental colouring job. Actually, there's very little I like about it overall, but I guess it'll make an okay benchmark to compare future character drawings too.

The second picture is another another one hour Alchemy and Photoshop thing. Looks pretty "Shadow Of The Colossus"-y in retrospect.

I think I'll try to include one character in every new post for the next little while. I'm happier with this ridiculous anti-ninja than with that homeless character, although that's mostly because of the colouring. The line art was still done way too quickly and the anatomy and pose still leave a lot to be desired. I'll use ref for the next one.

Also, snowy cliff protrusion things.

Birthday update! I am officially in my twenties now!

Here's a WIP of a somewhat gangsterly-looking fellow. I sketched the pose from Posemaniacs and put the suit on over top. I also went back and replaced the images in post #94 with slightly improved versions.

Another Prom fan here! With those two bugs and the unicellular alien you've really caught his style.
Keep working on anatomy and clothing, studying some fashion magazines or clothes catalog may help you.

I just browsed your sketchbook and inspected every picture carefully. Doing this, I realized 3 things:

1. Regarding content your work is very original and your technique keeps getting better.
2. You must be utterly insane.
3. This is awesome, gimme more!

Another quick self-portrait. Not much more than 30 minutes of work, I don't think (although I'm pretty bad at keeping track of time when I'm drawing). Rather pleased with the colours, but I don't like the lines at all.

Thanks for the portrait, man! Great likeness! Oddly enough, when I did a self portrait from that photo, I did it on blue-tinted paper.
