Great stuff. Looking on the first page, I was going to suggest that you look for a fuller distribution of values-- a lot of the first images sit somewhere in the middle-- but on the later images it looks like you've corrected that.
The victoria's secret girl looks like she has a very slight mustache. Other than that she looks great. Could push the values on that a bit.

I just have some Anatomy studies. I really really need to do more of these. I will plan on doing a session a night. 1 reference / 3 practices
Strela - Yah I hate my first pages.. I would like to just delete them all, but that would be fake. As for the mustache, it wont be there for long. I am positive that my coloring would correct itself. The values and tones will show up, when I get more hours in that piece. Thanks for stopping by though.![]()

Hey SaiVix, thanks a lot for stopping through my sketchbook thread! You're words are waaaaaaaaaaay to kind for my stuff! Good work here and good to see that you're getting back into it more. You've got a cute kid there as well! I'm sure you feel my pain trying to raise kids as well as work and still find time to do your art! That last SP painting in my thread, my son was in my lap the whole time I did it! I don't usually do that, but I just felt like I had to push something out there regardless of his insistence on trying to suck on the brush, it had just been too long!
You've had some good advice and critiques so far, so I don't have much to add to that...but you noticed I'm an anatomy dude, so of course I think you should work on that as much as possible from books and life when you can. Other than that just keep on going and draw all the time even if you can only get in 5 minutes some days, then do a five minute study of your hand or something! (I need to take my own advice more too, jeesh)
peace!
Edit: You added the anatomy studies just as I was replying, good work!
hey saivix! good suff dude! very nice seeing your progress, keep at it! especially those studiesand do more imagination stuff too
great work! I can see you're at a stage where you'll improve really rapidly, the change is already apparent from page one. keep it up!!!
Good Loomis studies.
If I could offer a suggestion on how to practice that stuff-- do the Loomis skeletons about 2" high, right next to each other on a paper set to "landscape mode." I don't know if you're doing more than that number in a session but you might try doing more of them. The fact that they're side by side means that you have a constant height reference and you can go fast. At least that's what I've been doing and it seems to be helping. I'm also doing Posemaniacs-- do an hour of the 30 second sketches and you'll know you've been drawing-- but I'm skeptical as to how much that helps. On the other hand it's pen mileage and I seem to be seeing some improvement on them.
I'm a big believer in drills and breaking things down into pieces, then making exercises out of the pieces.

Your getting better. I'm glad you stayed with conceptart through the years to better yourself. It's a great place, same reason you have for coming here, is the same reason i returned. Your improving fast and im proud. Keep it up and you'll be great in no time.
Wonderful sketch, and beautiful baby, you did her justice.
Haven't done anything for a long time. Then all of a sudden I got hungry!!! This is the result of a huge dump.

Good for you, Jacob :-)
Btw, keep up the good work with the anatomy studies, try to vary your sources, and often change book, ref and such, that'll give you a more accurate vision of the body, and will help you realize what's true and what's derived from the artist's own vision.. e.g., I don't think those thin cartoon-skeleton-like bodies will help you much, as they don't show the relation between each part of the body, plus the shoulders and hips are really vague, part of them depict bones, part muscles, it lacks clarity.
Keep it up, check other books!
Thanks foe the advice Panshi!! I'm actually going to try to have a sketch a day. I just need to find the time to do it. I was hoping to just draw from pose maniacs. I am in search of a nice portrait site, so I can practice from there (something like pose maniacs). But, I will probably just search on DeviantArt and find some nice subjects.

yeah, Posemaniacs is real good, can't wait to see your next studies!
Making a book out of a favorite bedtime story that my baby made up.
It involves a dinosaur
And a Princess
I first tried to make it vector-like.
But, I felt more natural just painting it.
This is how I started painting it.
Now, that my break is over, I need to get back to it. I really need to make a schedule...

@Alizak, thanks for you kind words. I will post more of the children's book. I am currently stuck on how to render the scales and have tried and failed many times today. Once I get an update on that, I will post it. Your work is inspiring me too.

Love your studies, keep working on them. Introduce yourself to 30 second gestures!!
Thanks Marlo! I will surely try the 30 second gesture drawings. I checked it out when I read your message. I didn't have anything to draw at the time. But, it looks fun.

Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook appreciate the kind words. I love the henna stuff, henna tattoos are a lot of fun.
Hey thanks for stopping by! I see a lot of improvement in your work! Some of your faces seem slightly off, I suggest doing more head studies. Draw more skulls and maybe look through Loomis's book. You have a better grasp on rendering. Just keep working with anatomy and do more work from imagination(which i still lack to do, so im being a hypocrite XD). But yea man keep pushing it! Nice tshirt designs hehehe. kute stuff
Rollen, Yeah I need to do more henna. I don't think I'm that good yet.

Hey man, cheers for checkn out my sb.
First of all im really grad you've started using a real sketchbook not a note book. also im glad you've started studying anatomy properly; you can do all the muscle men and size 0 waisted chicks that you want after you know the real stuff.
I like the small amount of digital you've done; however you have approached it very methodical and traditional - which is fine; me however i just start a scrible and roll with it lol.
would be nice to see some more basic value work from you, as well as more anatomy and some perspective!
Heyo, your work is going strong! I laughed at Jacob & Bella - so we know your stance on the Necrophilia/Bestiality question implicit in Twilight then?
Great shirt designs!
