Ian! What's up bro. You posted in an architecture thread of mine about five years ago. Specifically, I asked about architecture schools, and you guys helped me out a lot. I am now grateful to say that I'm still on the path to becoming an architect. I just finished my 3rd year at the University of Washington and I'm back on CA to brush up on my drawing skills. Well, your stuff looks great. It's nice to see the improvements you've made since then. I'll be starting a new sketchbook up in a few days. Hope to see ya around.

    Murk

Btw, let's see some updates man!

Hey man. Good to hear you're getting a sweet project. I also got my first possibility of real commission work, we're progressing together after all (kinda....) sorry to hear about the identity theft thing, luckily i've never dealt with any serious cases of that (because I'm hyper-paranoid). Looking forward to your updates, and good to hear you are taking some time off.

    Quikenobi: Thank you!

MacTire: Yep, same project! Thanks, man!

    HunterKiller_: Thanks

Bill: Hopefully one day soon you'll be walking through these things instead of just seeing them on CA! Thanks for keeping up.

    GRMC: Thanks a lot!

    TheVoodooChild: Thank you thank you!

    rambolin: Thanks very much, man!

Ryn: Thank you very much! Funny how it works out that way, huh?

comixnut: I love making those models! My wallet doesn't, but I do haha. They're a total pain in the ass most of the time but when they're finished and you haven't slept for 3 days, it's totally awesome to finally show it and be done and know you're happy with it. Definitely an awesome feeling.

Giorge: Hey, man! Thanks! Long, hard, expensive road ahead but it's gonna be awesome for sure. Truthfully the secret is not to stress out. If you feel like you're on the verge of a meltdown, like you don't have enough time to finish a project. Take a break. Seriously. Go outside, walk to the market, get a sandwich and some juice, sit down at a park and enjoy some food and rest, take a break, because seriously if you spend 2 hours relaxing, you'll get more work done in less time than you would have had you spent those 2 hours stressing. Other than that, the best advice I've ever been given is, "Somebody has to be the best. Why not you?" Just enjoy what you do, do it well, and do it like you mean it, and you'll get there for sure. Scholarships, awards, recognition just seems to follow you around once you as a person are happy with your work and happy with your life. Remember to stay healthy mentally, physically, and emotionally, and you'll make it no matter what as long as you really want it.

luness: I'm kinda late on the update so it's all good! Thanks so much, man. You're a good dude.

polipol: Haha that's an awesome analogy! Thanks for the encouragement!

monotony: Thank you so very much. I hope I don't let you down!

Bill: Bill! Thanks for the birthday post! Always a pleasure when you come by.

    wanimal: Ha, thanks!

MurkyDreams: Daaaang, 5 years? No kiddin', that's hard time, man. I'm looking forward to seeing your studio work! Good luck on Junior year, man. Thanks for checking out the old sketchbook!

Quikenobi: School here "accidentally misplaced" 53 data servers that should have been recycled on campus, but were sent to a third party since it was cheaper, and said third party turned out to be really clever identity thieves, so they made out with everyone's Social Security, Address, personal info, phone numbers, transcripts, everything from 2001 to 2009. As a result, somebody signed a lease a broke it with my name. Funnnn...

Sepulverture: Thanks for the encouragement, man... I'm on the verge of slappin' some fools.

Ok ok ok. I know... I know! No update. Long story short:

    Moving to Austin.
    Transferring to UT.
    Identity theft.
    Got sick.
    NEW: Rock through windshield.
    NEW: Calculus.
Took time out to relax and do nothing.
Macbook Pro died... 3rd time in less than 2 years. FAIL.
NEW: Got a new one for $300. The screen on it defected... 4th screen now...
    Birthday nonsense.
    NEW: Snazzy surprise projects.
    And now I'm back.

I was hoping I'd be able to show this big fancy professional getting paid the big bucks project by now... but I can't. Hopefully by the end of the year. I, being a student of architecture and having no license, have been lucky enough to be asked by Valero Energy to design a gas station/eating area in downtown San Antonio from what was once an awesome industrial looking auto repair shop. Essentially they're paying me for my ideas, and getting real architects and engineers to put it together, but the process of it all is going extremely slowly, and you can blame them for that.

Also got 2-3 other things I will be able to show in late August.

As for now, you will have to put up with this nonsense. Watercolor style study and getting to know my Wacom better. Enjoy.

Thanks everyone, and I miss you all!

Wow, your ideas being used, and still only a student!! That's incredible on two parts, one, that your talent is recognised so early in your career, and secondly, hehe, that's practically illegal here! Wait, hang on, maybe it isn't, did this come as a result of a compeition entry or something??
Regardless, my respect for you has now increased ten-fold!!
That watercolour-esque study is coming along very nicely too!!
    Keep up the great work!!

    Hi Ian

Oh wow, it's been waaayy too long since I stopped by, so sorry about that! Looks like you've been busy being awesome as usual. (Belated) Congrats on getting into the new school, you absolutely deserve that, you work like a machine! Can't wait to see your new projects when you start there. And the job you're working on sounds so exciting, pity we have to wait half a year to see your work!

I really dig the watercolours plus the digital lady above, really nice mix.

    Dished: You and me both!

MacTire: Not a competition at all... they heard about me from somebody else. And it's completely legal, I'm just not legally allowed to provide any construction documents with my name on them or anything official like that. I get a licensed architect and engineer to do that and I explain to them how the building works etc etc. Still in the very beginning phases, though.

Quikenobi: That's what I said haha. Thanks again!

Farvus: Thank you as always, sir. Pleasure to see you back through these parts!

loveandasandwich: I make anything! And my camera is a cheapo pocket digital... Olympus 710. It was like $80 new on Amazon back in 2007 haha.

spoonfruit: Still have plenty of studying left! Thanks a lot!

    B-Man: Thanks much. You Hawaiian?

SmoteyMote: Thank you very much! I need to do more of those, it's been too long!

AsaB: Asa Pity I have to wait that long to work on it haha! Thank you as always, miss.

Monkeydominator: Seriously, right? Good to be back! Thanks for keeping track!

    liam.c: Thanks kindly!

Grandmassa Mr. Spect: Haha, thanks, man! More stuff to show soon!

Lyno: Thanks much! Hope to see you back around!

Finally done moving... getting situated in a new city and new school. More to come as the days follow!

Great stuff here mate, loving the models.

Loverly stuff all through, I think the anatomy studies are great.

I should really do some this week, I'm getting rusty on anatomy.

    :p

Keep up the good work mate.
