PieMonster: Thanks much!! I really liked the watercolours too, I need to do more of em! And everyone can crit on architecture! We all spend our entire lives in spaces - we know which ones we like, which ones we don't, what makes us feel different ways and so on. The non-architecturally educated person can tell within 10 seconds if the space they're in is comfortable or not, whether physically, visually/aesthetically, or mentally. I'll add a giant octopus monster rising out of the river to crush the building

Got a few things for tonight... been trying to figure out markers lately and I think I finally got it. Did a quick random building in elevation. A few of you have mentioned that at times I draw flat things with no perspective - it's on purpose. They're called elevations and have no true perspective and serve more as a proportional and measuring purpose than an art purpose. Anyway, there's one of those, and some more progress with the current project. Got a quick sketch of what the river-front at the restaurant will look like as well as the adjacent garden.

EDIT: Here are the finished renders for the project... I missed a week and a half of time to work on this so it isn't nearly where I'd like it to be, but it'll do. Time for a nap... model building begins in 8 hours.

Wow, you appear to be the epitome of "concept art" haha. I like your skills, I would love to be able to do those watercolours.

I must say though I liked your studies at the start on the first page, pity there aren't more drawing in this style Though I can see you are very busy!

AlexTooth: Thanks kindly! Those watercolours were my first 3 tries! Just give it a shot, they're fun and easy! As for the old studies and drawings, yea I miss those too! Architorture owns my soul... I don't even have time to draw buildings!

So I got a Wacom on Monday!!!!!!!!

This is my first try. Photoshop CS4. 1.5 hours, no ref. Inspired by the recent (and historical) incidents in Sylvia Plath's family...

EDIT: Also probably heavily and indirectly influenced by me watching Punisher War Zone and Max Payne a week ago. Y'think?

Hey mate, really good work, it might be a huge amount of work to do all these architecture modeling ! Anyway, for your last digital painting, your scene is a bit empty, you should take a look at some design principles, here http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=110809 ( well you can go through the whole environmentoring sectio, many great advices and exercises there ! ) Keep working

Thank you for posting in my thread.Your thread reminds me of the time I used to be in the architecture school, it actually reminds me of the really talented guys from school that always managed to do great projects.I was never one of those guys, I could never get it, I dropped out of school after the first year. Your work looks really great though and it shows that you like doing this and what is even better, you also like drawing, which is really good, you can't say that about many architects.What can I say except keep up the great work.

VanDog: Ha! I've been watching Equilibrium and Minority Report and The Island a lot lately. The architecture in those are some some of my favourite environments so they're definitely influential in a way. Sterile sort of but still alive... just enough feeling. Thanks!

Found out I got accepted to the Savannah College of Art and Design!! Prayin' for those scholarships now. Waiting on a few other schools, too, but yay SCAD!

Anyway, here's the portfolio they were given. It will be updated soon to include my most recent architecture project and other things, but this was it as of February 28. There are a few studies near the back originally done by people you should readily recognize, and if not, they are Wes Burt, Michael Mentler, Tensai, Andrew Loomis, and some other obvious characters. CHECK OUT THEIR WORK! I wouldn't be nearly anywhere close to where I am had it not been for all the influential people on CA.org, everyone who's given me encouragement, critiques, and so on. It's really incredible to finally have some tangible evidence that says, "Your work is good enough," and I wouldn't be that without this community or this site so thanks to everyone who comes through my sketchbook!!!

So the portfolio. 6"x12" plates, 24" spreads, laser printed on heavy coated bond paper. The plates were printed all on 1 side, so each page is folded giving it an extra thick backing and a really interesting (and cheap) solution to double-sided printing that I think looks a lot nicer. Nothing holds the pages together except for the wire bind. The barcode actually does read my name if you scan it with the proper coding system. Same code is then spread across the portfolio faintly in the background to soften all the white. Thin sheet of semi-opaque polycarbonate on the outside covers. Critique even this.

Lastly, more fun with the Wacom. 3rd day using it. Finally starting to learn!

You've got some seriously stunning stuff here. I went through your book briefly at work a couple of days ago but was too busy to write down a comment. Anyhow I really like what I see and am pleasantly surprised to see some architecture stuff ( awesome btw ). I'm a huge fan of your drawings, they've got this awesome looseness to them.

Actually I was about to go and study architecture as well but possibility of a career as a concept artist presented itself and I chose to at least postpone the architecture studies.

Thanks for the kind words ( and stars!! ) in my sb. They are truly appreciated! I'll keep an close eye on you, and oh- I thought you deserved a few stars as well

On a related note, how do you find architects (and their kin) react to your fine arts work? I am quite curious as you may have guessed.
