    Scanner recommendations?

I apologize if this has been asked before or if it's not appropriate for this forum -- I'm sure a mod will let me know if that's the case.

Can anyone recommend a decent scanner that's reasonably priced?

The ol' digital camera just isn't cutting it for importing my pencils into digital form. The last scanner I bought had serious glare problems when scanning in pencils, so I'm researching it this time. The catch is that I'm a skinflint. Looking to spend less than $200 if I can -- the cheaper, the better. Obviously I'm not going to get pristine quality in that price range, but I'd like to get as much bang for the buck as possible.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated! Cheers.

I like Canon scanners the interface is very good and you can get excellent results easily, HP has probably the worse interface I've seen and pencil scans look terrible, I don't remember the exact model name but it wasn't that old. Large A3 scanners cost a fortune, the Mustek ones are cheap but I've heard they break after an year or so, they aren't made to last. Epson and other brands I have no contact with so I'm not going to comment on them.

The scanner I use is the one on my Canon Pixma 210, works great, fast with brilliant results, scanning pencils is very important to me so I was happy that it handled that task very well.

I’ve got a Lexmark X5100 all in one. Everyone I know hates Lexmark, but it’s lasted me 6 years without a problem and still going strong.
