Beautiful style and characters. keep up the great work!
Slowly but surely I'm learning to animate, might as well post it in my sketchbook, as well.
The last one is made for a sound clip, which you can see here.

Still messing around with this here and there. Support and villain characters. Really just knocking out as much as I've got in my head into something basic I can move forward from.
I've got sketchbook stuff to scan, but this is quicker, much quicker.
Hi, I looked at the last 3 pages or so of your sketchbook earlier, nice progress, I really like this http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...Rool/Take1.gif Its very smooth, even though its short, but I know how much time and effort it takes to animate something so nice job there.
some of your life drawings seem to have alot of unsure pencil strokes, maybe a good exercise could be trying to use less lines and more observation with accurate and confidant strokes. I know a basic exercise i'm sure you may have already practiced is to look at an object and try to draw it without looking at the paper your working on.
Great work, very fun stuff here, lots of motion and life and movement in your sketches. Keep at it, good luck.
THE IMPROVEMENT WAS ASTOUNDING AND I'M CRYING NOW ahem
golly gee you've not only captured your lines very well but are excellent at wrangling them to make super expressive characters!goodness me you are exciting to see here
DDD
also... t-those animations.even though they're short wow nicely done pencil tests aghsgh i can only dream! :> VERY excited to see more from you!
Dude your awesome! i love those little animations and the character designs keep it up!!
Just read through this thread, you've made some huge progress!
One comment I would have is that you seem to put the eyes too far up on the head and it looks a little weird.
That's really nice to hear!

Learned a bit about Photoshop painting in the process of doing this.
The charcoal brush is great.
I REALLY need more and more practice with digital, but I'm always so damn slow. I'm serious, it took me all day to do that thing up there, and it's pathetic that that's all that came out of it.
I gotta just use photoshop more, simplify my process and PLAN from the beginning as to what I want the final result to be.
Gotta work gotta work!

dude I love your stuff so much! super inspiring style, also I'm a total sucker for big eared cats and shark teeth so combining the two makes you a winner in my book.
Huh. It felt good doing that. More stuff tomorrow, for sure!

Nice stuff man, good progress, Savanna, GA ? are you attending an art school, from my memory there is a good school for animation there. Is your last post from life? looks to be.
Yep, SCAD. My history with SCAD is pretty much a rollercoaster. I started back in 2008, but immediately in 2009 everything went out of whack. Since then I've been an on and off student, where I'd only be part time for a while, miss entire semesters (or a whole year, which is what happened in 2009) and things got even more convoluted when I decided to change my major last year.
If things were NORMAL, I would have graduated by now, but each step of the way it looks like I'll never graduate at all. Officially I'm still a sophomore (But I believe I just need to get one more full time semester out of the way to become a junior)! Thank goodness I wanted to be an artist!
Anyway, I currently live in a small apartment in Savannah, because it's cheaper than any of the campus housing, and it's an actual residence.
Yep, the last post is just faces for various people at the mall. The holiday season ensures that the place is packed, so it was a good opportunity to go there and just draw for a few hours.
...Just getting through traffic is a pain in the ass.

Ohhhh those animation tests are mesmerising. I've been meaning to get more into an animated style, so this is really inspiring stuff![]()
Whow I love your animations and style!

Looking through your sketchbook, I have to say that you have gotten better. Oh, and your subject variety keeps things from getting banal.

Your sketchbook is amazing. You've improved tons since you've started it, but I'm sure you already know that. Wish I could give you critique, but I'm nowhere close to your level yet.
Loving the critter in your latest piece by the way!
I know I'm getting sidetracked from the Ugolino drawing, but I do get bored working on one thing constantly. It's more fun to try something new and do a quick painting that only takes a couple hours. Turned out crappy, but hey. Just another bad drawing out of me.
I try again and I'm STILL messing up! Haha.
