    Wink Fleshing out shapes

I'm having a hard time trying to "Flesh-out" shapes when I am drawing I can't see them. Can any one link me to some material to help me out or give me some advice?

Shape is 2D - form or volume are 3D. Are you looking at real things with volume? Working from photos? Imagination? What are you doing to try to actually see form?

Get yourself a collection of objects - paint them off-white. Draw center lines and axis lines around the forms to help. Set them up, light them and draw them. A lot.
    What would Caravaggio do?

A little of both, mostly 2D images from anime; but, I study life drawings first.
