This one will go a bit further. I'm trying to set up a bunch of environments, so I can choose a few to render out. I think this one needs some love, but it could go somewhere.

I really like the previous landscape. I have a weakness to this kind of perspective![]()
Hey man, cool environments, I remember seeing that ancient temple one in the WIP section a couple of months back, it came out nice. One thing that you should work on in your environments is emotion, you're trying to evoke an emotion in your viewer so try to work towards one or two adjectives, like awe-inspiting, creepy, threatening, calm, peacful, tranquil, or dangerous...stuff like that. Use elements to build on that adjective. Keep it up.
sweet..your colors are very soft and well
Hell yeah, thanks fellas.
Here's some stuff from the past couple of days or whatever. The cyclops STILL isn't done, but it will be one day.

From today.
Not exactly a stellar showing, but at least I'm picking it back up again. That's also because now I'm only working 40 hours a week... it's a lot easier to do art when you've got a full 30 hours you're not working anymore.
And a speed paint!

Lovely. I especially like the last wip, the forest giant. But I have one suggestion - I see you using some textured brushes, but it's not quite enough. Use either sharpen tool, or use some sharpen filters, so that those thin and little details would pop-up. Keep going man.

Forgot one (lost some value variation and everything went to black?):
EDIT: I think the figure should be in focus and the other thing out of focus. oops.

I'm gonna post this before I do more studies today. I'm gonna do some faces, because I leave all of the heads off of my figure studies.
When I was in college I had a "basic figure drawing" class with an awesome angry Russian guy (all a front- real nice dude) and we were really only setting up the figure, and he said we'd be covering the head in one of his later classes. And then I took one of the later classes with someone else and we didn't follow the curriculum. So... this is just kind of how I did my figure drawings and I'm not entirely sure where I should be looking for connection points.
But I'll figure it out! There are enough figure drawing by great artists on the internet to help out.
This one was a study, so it's referenced from this guy

I like the girl in post 139, though I've liked it more with visible feet. However to me it looks like her tit little bit misplaced. And I hope you will render this one out.

Seraph- Can you elaborate on her tit being misplaced? Which one and to what direction? I got a little daring and tried to make her kind of lifting one up with her arm drawing back, but I could have botched that easily. It looked right to me at the time, so I guess I have a long way to go in figure drawing.
Please stop by as often as you'd like. Your comments are quite helpful.
So I wanna do CHOW. Turns out the week I am determined to work on one (though, again... TONS of day job...jobS...) the theme is Viking Berserker. Haha. Shit yeah.

Just to show you what I do with these figure studies. I try to build them up (and THEN I render them. It's a lot of work sometimes, but it's worth it when I draw from my head. Here's some fun from today:

I like the no-ref figures, very dynamic. And also very nice work on the Cyclop. Keep going!
Thanks all.
The cyclops is off and on in progress. I'm not really working towards a lot of finished pieces right now, just trying to gain the knowledge to level up those pieces that I do finish. I'm still not happy with the quality of my work, but I guess it's getting there. I suppose this sketchbook is all about the journey.
Thinner lines... Haha yeah, I should! I actually draw them smaller than they appear here, though- The lines look kind of thin when I paint them. I'll go with it, though. Thanks Snake.
I haven't had a day off from work in over a week now, now I'm pretty pooped. But I'm happy that I'm at least keeping up with some sketches, and reading a book on the side. Glenn Cook's books are the shiznit, by the way. Great for visualization practice.
