I like the first one! Be careful with very saturated colors though. You could try desaturating the sky and background landscape a bit.

violet landscape have a nice colors but is flat because it haven't atmospheric fog

in creature nice color again, but think about this creature like simple shapes like cylinder and add bounce light

I agree that the shitty scribble has a lot more life into it. It's a fine line from sketch to finished and how much detail is required to call it complete.
