    hey parsi

stunning progress, a lot happened while i was away. chapeau
I just wanted to step by and say hello again
    I decided to come back.

@Rbeek. I had the same thought but I took a second look at it with reference and i guess it´s allright. (front legs are smaller because the body "gulps" them.)

I´d rather say the person is too small (head of the horse ist bigger than the body&head o.0)

wow great progress in here! Like the idea of having dual monitors too lol.

The portrait study on the last page is great. The only thing to watch is the edges. Sometimes they can be a little hard when painted quickly and in places (like the edges of lips) they could do with a little softening. Apart from that just keep up the good work!

ah man, you're making me want to try out for this ChoW as well but i have bloody exams standing in my way
I love all the horses, but i think you could make the rider of the red one a bit more dynamic, like putting more "swing" into his arm and body (if that makes any sense)
    Good luck tho!

are you thinking of doing all four on page with the colors and back ground melding together?
or will it be four separate pieces. You have some really strong entries and its only monday looks like you inspired me to pick up my tablet and rock for this CHOW. great stuff man

I Looooooooove your use of color. It's insane! Your work jumps out to me all the time, but that's not why I'm commenting....

Dude, your horses are not right. I've been riding horses since before I could walk, I photograph them, and I draw them. There are big anatomical issues with your legs and I'm not sure where to start. I think you need to use some photo reference. Most importantly, the location of joints is consistently off and I even see a hind leg placed as the front leg in one picture.

If it helps, the first joints you see (elbow in the front limb, stifle or tarsal in hind) actually occur before the lower line of the body. Yours drop too far below before they start. Knees in front should be squarish and the next joint should be round. Hooves need to be larger and rounder. Check the length of each limb in between the joints. I hope that gives you a start; like I mentioned, photo reference would be best. Do not use horse anatomy pics/charts, those horses are usually drawn to look like they are headed to the glue factory.

Keep up the good work, soon your equines will rival your humans

edit: just a note, something non-horse people might not notice: Horses carry the majority of their weight on their front legs, like A LOT of it. So, in a pose where they are not walking, trotting, or cantering, their front legs are likely to both be on the ground and they are also likely to be right next to each other. A hind leg is more likely to be lifted in anticipation. I know the old horse statues of yesteryear had various limbs lifted, but I think that was to signify something about the rider, such as a certain pose in the horse meant the rider had died in battle or something.

It took me like three hours to finish the shading on your upper lip. It's probably the best drawing I've ever done.

Great work dude, and some really sound advice from Janit. The horses definately look ok but need a little work. Feels like your legs are generally too small, especially the bulk of the front ones, and the neck area seems a little too big and chunky too.
Your technique is really good though, the workin up from darks gives it a good dark feeling.
Keep up the good work man.

This horsemen rock, very nice paintings.. i wish had time to do some for this chow.
i´d take a look at the first horseman´s bow arm, seems a bit strange.
