    Progress update.
    Lots of figure studies.
Lots of traditional paints, I'll post them sooner or later.
    And lots of reworking.

master study looks phresh, man. Those two comp sketches in your most recent post are looking solid as hell, too. Maybe, in the second one, play with the position of that dude's legs a little to show some more movement or whatever? Kinda looks like he's just like jumped off the ground and swung his arm or w/e. Hard to tell where he's falling from or something like that. Can't really explain right now for whatever reason. Maybe I'll get back to you when I'm not being a retard and can compose my words a little better. cheers, brah

    kev- thanks!

Jovian- I think you're right, the legs are especially wrong. If he is lunging, the back leg should be springing back fully flexed, while the front leg needs to be up as his weight should be on the bo, I'll need to figure that out.

Unless anyone sees any major flaws, I'm calling this one done. I have to move on. There will be a graphic element added near the bottom. Anyways, next!

Be careful, my friend: you keep making work like this, you will end up ruling the whole universe! And on a personal note, you make me look like a lazy bum, bah. Keep it up! I want to know what other awesomeness you are going to create.

    Othrandir- Thanks! More to come!
    jovian- thanks for the love
black spot- traditional will always be my first love
    kambei- Thanks!
blackbridge- thanks blackbridge! by the way, you inspired some of these bargue and cast studies!

    Ok, it's been a while..
This semester has been pretty freakin' crazy, balancing home life with the family and pushing my work further. About midway I realized I was either going to tank on the school work or the illustration work, so I had to put everything on hold and start pushing out my school work. This coming semester, I am trying to work out an independent study with the illustration prof. to focus on my illustration portfolio as an assignment. It's hasn't been a waste though, I can already tell by going back and looking at my illustration work that all the drawing is going to help me correct some of this stuff that I was having problems with. I hope everyone is doing well, and I am going to make a sincere effort to keep up with this book and everyone else running around here. If you've friended me on facebook you'll probably recognize some of this already.

Below, you will find a mix of the good and the bad. I'm pretty shitty with pen and ink but I wanted to post some of it if only to motivate myself through public humiliation. A few paint doodles and landscapes too, I'm going to really push landscapes next semester, as it is pretty alien to me. Sorry for the low quality pics, I did the best I could with what I have available at the moment, camera on my phone and some photoshop grease.

Doesn't everyone has a skeleton in their wardrobe? Some lovely studies being posted. I hate drawing under pressure, but that live stream resulted in a very colourful picture - what is he doing?

Blackspot- After two years of teaching high school, I'm completely over looking foolish or not as sharp as I would like in front of people. It doesn't feel awkward or particularly tense to stream. And, I think he's just resting his hands on the pommels of two swords. Comfort zone stuff, but it fits in better with the other two character portraits I am working on, as the others are static also. I'm going to have to push out to more dynamic stuff in my studies for sure.

Streaming in about 10 min. Working on a landscape study and starting to clean up the previous WIP.
