dude, you are totally posting in the wrong section of the forum man. you should take you stuff to the sketchbook part of the forum. your work needs loads of work so i would suggest a lot of practice.

Welcome to CA, don't be intimidated. Figure out your goals and the little steps you need to take to get there, we're all learning and trying to improve. I would say go out in the world with pencil and paper, do lots of drawing from life- buildings, cars, quick gesture drawings of people or animals, just get a sense of how things exist in real 3D space. Good luck and keep posting and drawing, you'll get feedback and get bet better faster.

your pictures don't look very three-dimensional at all, and that comes down to value and form. knowledge and hard work will help you overcome that. don't be discouraged; keep working and learning and drawing every day, and you'll get there. peace, dude; happy trails.

some ok stuff here. Just keep practicing. Look into anatomy, grab some books from the libray. Draw & Sketch. Dont stop. It's amazing how quickly you will see yourself improve. I look at my stuff I did in February this year compared to what I have done now, it really is cool to compare how much you improve. Go sit in the garden, draw whatever you lay your eyes upon. You have a nice start, you just need to practice, much like myself. We're all in the same boat here my friend. Welcome

i guess i didn't explain myself that well.

when i mentioned 3d, i meant about form, or even an appearance of depth. that's what shading is about; trying to show that something has form and isn't just flat. the thread i sent is not a tutorial so much as a workshop, with exercises to help you practice shading in such a way that it helps you create depth in your paintings. learning how to draw things in real life will help you when you draw them from your imagination, as i'm assuming that all of these are. just reading it isn't gonna help you; you have to do the exercises as well. anyway, its up to you. as for digital art, the only things you've posted here are digital pieces, but if you have non-digital art please do post. keep working hard dude, and i hope you continue to improve. take care!

Hi thanks for stopping by my sketchbook Your pencil sketches in the above post are out of proportion, but your second one is much better than your first. Did you say you are 14 in your first post? Well I'm like 10 years your senior, so look at it like this. You keep practicing, never put down those pencils & you will be much better than me when your my age. If it's something you love doing just dont quit, like i did. Anyway, i think what you need to do is work from reference pictures or better still, draw from life. If you want to draw people, wait till your mother has finished with those gossip magazines & rip out all the pages that have people on them & draw the crap out of it. Trust me they help, I have lots & lots of these, he he Study the shapes, look where it's lighter or darker & where the light is coming from. People are one of the most difficult things to draw. I have tons upon tons of people sketches that are way off, as you saw in my sketchbook. But sometimes you get one that you like. Start off simple, draw a cup or mug or plates. See things as shapes not items. Items are generally made of Sphere's, Cylinders & Cubes ( boxes ). Keep working

I would suggest you spend more than 10-20minutes on a drawing..
Also, draw your hand. Draw it and keep drawing your hand till it looks just like it!
Or draw an eye from reference, but keep on drawing till you think it looks like a copy, this will give you a sense of detail and alot of understanding =)

Ok listen my friend, it comes down to a really simple thing if you wish to improve:

Studies

Since you're new around here I'll try to explain to you how this can be beneficial to you. To draw something, you need to KNOW it. to know something is to understand its construction, its form, its masses, proportions, etc... I promise sooner or later you will se big improvements if you do those studies.

It's always pleasure to me snooping in the new Users SB's! Your fantasy is pretty mad! I suggest you to draw first from reference, memorize the forms and other stuff like that then start to develop your shading skills (if you have some)! So it's going to be hard work but you're 14 and have a spare time to practice! Gain some experience from the top artists then post stuff!

While you should draw for fun, if you want to do this for a living when you are older, you need to do some more formal exercises. So take your hand, hold it in some position and draw it using only lines, no shading.
Do this every day and post them. Srsly.
