Ok, i thought about this quite a lot, and today after looking through CA's forums and noticing that about a 1/3 if not more are devoted to TAD...i came to a decision.

I'm not a professional artist or some outstanding CA contributor, so i guess what i'm gonna write here won't make any "waves" or affect anything but frankly i don't care anymore.

I joined this site in 2006 to find an awesome community, with young aspiring artists that worked hard to become professionals, of course not everyone were like this but CA had a sense of real community with people devoted to art and other people devoted to help you become a better artist.

However these days, all i see is:
A. Over populated site, where a sketchbook update reaches the 2nd page of the SB forum sometimes in less than an hour.

B. Many DeviantArt like qualities, when very little people actually care about getting and giving helpful feedback on art, and more about posting, posting and posting...just for the sake of posting, i especially like those who produce 20 pages of Loomis "studies" every week and they even don't know why are they doing them?!?!?...and the list of similarities to DA just goes on and on...(2 word comments, too many artists, no real content to the site, degrading community activities...etc)

C. CA turning in to a money making machine for some artists, with all this TAD bs and advertisement. Censoring anyone who actually tries to speak about doing some "free" lessons or video tutorials.

D. There are so much more things that i don't like about CA these days...but i"ll just skip to the main point of all this crap.

During my posting time here i met so many awesome people who helped me a lot, with their comments, critiques and support even when i wanted to quit drawing.
However, now i just don't feel that staying on CA would contribute to me in any way.

This is my last post, so again i wanted to thank everyone who supported me all the way, you are AWESOME!!! Keep drawing and painting!

In the end your experience is what you make of it. Sorry to see you go; I really enjoyed your work, and thought to give you support because your improvement was personally encouraging to me.

I wish I had an awesome comment for you every time; sometimes I just don't have the time, but want to show some quick support.

Although I don't agree with your reasons for leaving, I wish you well and think it's a pity you're leaving, because I only recently started following your art, but I love it all the same, and learn from what you post. Your progress has inspired me till now, and I hope you keep progressing towards what you want!

Alex, I hope you consider coming back to CA. though i agree with a few reasons you've mentioned, i do sometimes find myself guilty of the fact of posting for the sake of well, posting, but in actuality i do want feedback/critique and wanting to improve because i realize i want to do art for a living and because i just love doing it! i respect your decision to move off of CA but all i can say is for you to keep going after what you really want without regrets :] i will miss your posts here and i must say i've learnt a lot from your work ethic and dedication.

יש הרבה חן בעבודות שלך וההשקעה היא דבר נראה שמתבלט מאוד כשאני צופה במה שאתה עושה, ולפעמים כשאתה מבין שהקהילה בה אתה נמצא כבר לא מספקת את צרכייך אתה כבר לא כל כך בטוח איך זה יכול לתרום להמשך התפתחותך כצייר או מאייר.

אין לי גם סיבות לשכנע אותך להשאר או לחזור, הבחירה שלך ועשית אותה.

אני כן רוצה לגעת בכמה נקודות.

לא יצא לי לפגוש אנשים שלומדים מספרים כגון אלו של לומיס וברידג'מן בלי שהם ידעו מה התועלת בהם. ראיתי אנשים שמזלזלים בלימודים האלו, ז"א - ללא הקדשת מחשבה למה שהם עושים ופשוט מעתיקים את מה שהם רואים כי זה מה שכולם עושים. זאת סוג של השפעה תרבותית על אנשים שאינם יודעים איך לגשת לספרים האלו ורוצים תוצאות זריזות.
(כמובן שהאנשים האלו לא ישארו בתחום להרבה זמן)

לגבי "מחלקת האומנות" של קונספט-ארט, אני לא ממש בטוח למה אתה מתכוון אבל אתה כנראה כן יודע מה קורה פה יותר ממני. וזאת כי אני מגביל את עצמי לביקור סקצ'בוקים ועבודות בעיקר רק של מעגל החברים הקטן שיצרנו פה ולא יותר מזה בדר"כ (פשוט כי אין זמן להגיב לכולם על כל דבר קטן שהם עושים)

אוקיי, אני חושב שזהו זה. רוצה לאחל לך המון הצלחה בציור ואיור ובעתיד בקריירה המדעית! מקווה שתעדכן אותי בצורה כלשהי לגבי עבודות חדשות שאתה מפרסם היכן שתבחר לפרסם אותן!

hmm not bad, not bad at all, your fiqures are little lacking weight in three dimensionality, maybe doing them as shapes more in 3d space in beginning could help?
