One of these days I'm going to take one of the better thumbnails and work up a full painting... but until then here's some more.

Those thumbnails are looking really good. I especially like the first one in the last update. This is a really good idea, I should start doing some of these too.

Just one tiny crit, maybe try to vary up the lighting/mood on some of them? Instead of having the constant high saturation super colorful sci-fi/fantasy mood, maybe go for some more subtle natural colors? But, if that's not what you're going for, then just completely ignore me.

    Keep up the great work!

bandaidboy12: Thanks! You're probably right about the colors/mood... I use dramatic effects too much sometimes I think. Good advice.

Bushido: Thanks, man, I'll get back to thumbs soon.

Saw some great B&W work recently and thought I'd try my hand at some digital B&W. Fun to do (though the linework is all over the place). From imagination, of course.

I love the thumbs but my favourites are those pencils in post #1. I wanna see more of them

Nice speedpaint but one thing I'd say though is try to slow down in your lights. Speed paint in low contrast but slow down in high contrast since you are still trying to convey the image even though you are working fast.

Thanks for the kind remarks everyone. Don't know that I really deserve them, though. So far to go!

Anyways, here's another speedpaint as well as some color study thumbs I did as per Jason Manley's pre-color-class assignment. Though I (sadly) missed the class, I had a good time doing the studies.

Tried a more subtle scene for a speedpaint today. Sometimes I feel like I can only do dramatic lighting.

Also, if anyone feels like watching me paint, I've been recording these on Livestream. Come by and watch sometime! Friend me on facebook if you want some sort of notification of when I'm painting.

Been having a real blast doing these speedpaints. Tried with this one to both experiment with some new knowledge about color as well as working to achieve a sort of epic scale in my pieces--something sorely lacked but greatly desired.

    Nice man,

You got a real good range of work in here from studies from real-life and imagination. I like some of those last environments you did also. Good going! Keep painting and drawing and experimenting. Nice sb!

Hey those speed paints are great. Also those thumbs look good too, like to see one of those fully done.

Trashy: Thanks! The encouragement is greatly appreciated.

Izer: Thanks, I'd like to see some of those thumbs finished as well. Just haven't had the motivation to really "finish" many pieces this summer. Focusing more quicker pieces and studies.

Did another speedpaint today. The pits of hell.

    Thanks man! Much appreciated.

Been busy moving to school and getting ready for that lately, so haven't had much time to do work, but I did whip this thing up today. Inspired by Whit Brachna, obviously.

Another snowy speedpaint. I'm alright with the structure and the depth I got in it, but I think the background is kinda killing it.
