    Eric´s Sketchbook (BigDL)(update: asap -56kuseless)

    Hello guy´s,
    I decided also to start a sketchbook, presenting and updating often sketches from the work. Starting with new sketches done in the last days. C&C always welcome!

    Haha, eric is finally posting in CA - GOOOOD!!!
    Great sketchbook man, your designs and concepts are top notch stuff. It´s rare seeing a artist to be good in more than one style and to understand different subjects like characters, vehicles ,environment etc.! :chug:

    Thanx Roberto, good to hear that!:chug:

    When I start to develop a complicated illustrations with several interactive characters, I first make a rough sketch in a smaller size, about 10 to 15 cm. The problem is, I cant´t stop sketching, and then I develop this bullshit small sketch till I´m not able to understand whats going on there. Here is one of that "overforced" sketches:

    And some other more developed/clean sketches.
    Cheers, eric

    Excellent work! Your skill with the human form is fantastic. I aspire to such a level.

    one crit, the other animation style pictures don't seem as strong structure wise. I would suggest to draw through the object and put more lines across the face where the eyes go, nose and mouth goes etc.

    Hope you post more!

    Actually, I work with the lines in my working process, but when I sketch in the book, I try often to sketch more directly, without constructing too much. Not with too much success, as you can see !

    Here some rough storyboards frames, I´ve done for a friends short movie.
    Cheers and thanx, Eric

    Great stuff here. Just one small thing I noticed though. The tires on your motorcycles seem really flat, like perfect cylinders. My bike and all my friend's bikes have more doughnut shaped tires... dunno if that describes it correctly.

    Um if you laid the tire down flat on it's side it looks a lot more like this

    (______)

    then this

    Oh, man, thats great, after a hard day full of work, I check this thread and I saw a post from foster. Man, maybe you don´t know, but you make me today a very very happy person. Thanx man, for me it means a lot!

    @Carlo
    Thanx you too, you´re right with the motorcycle. I wanted to draw it first in a moment jumping from a boat, but it is not quite correct, thats right. I will take care next time!

    @Suder
    Cool you´re here,man. Danke!

    My only sketch of today, between a lot of boring work, advertising crap!

    A lot of work makes almost impossible to post something here in the past two weeks.
    Here are some 5 minutes life drawing sketches from last week, friends of mine playing models in action with different weapons, things boys love to do .

    Again life drawing nude sketches, also 5 and one minute quick drawing, also with katanas...

    And some comicscribbles....

    Cheers, eric

    Really good stuf you´ve got here around! I always enjoy looking at your "sketchbook" even if I didn´t find some time to make a wise remark .

    I recognize your style but I don´t know where to put it. Did you work for one or the other german RPG-system?

    damn man this is really good stuff,

    what are you mostly doing your drawings in, is it indigo blue verithins???

    the only thing i'd like to see more of in your work is value shift and modeling, which you've superbly exhibited in some of the other drawings posted, i'd just like to see more of it..

    keep up the good work..
