    is it just me or does it just look like it wont work?

    from an engineering stand point it looks wrong
    i think its fake ...cyberdyne? HAL?

    here's the american version



    slightly more mechanical looking, probably a little more robust. definitely looks more flexible. The real problem they'll run into with these suits is the constraints of the people's bodies. if your suit can lift 200kg steel blocks that's fine, but your hands would still be unable to hold on, so the exoskeleton would have to augment everything, even your fingers.

    You'll notice the American suit is still tethered. It's not entirely self sufficient like the Japanese suit is.

    Still, this is cool stuff.

    I think that was for the prototype testing, and also for safety. If something goes amiss you want to be able to cut power easily.

    They look promising right now, and I could see valuable applications, but they'll need to become smaller over all to really reach their potential.
