the face study is nice, post more stuff!
Ya. Need more work so we can help ya.Good stuff so far. Good to have another young aspiring artist on the board.
Thanks guys, been a while since my first post, but here is some more stuff
keep em coming. you got what it takes. just pay a bit more attention to details even for speedies. godspeed!
Thanks realextension appreciate it, yer my work can be a little rough sometimes something i need to work on. new one.
don't we alljust lay down the basic silhouette and the major shapes at 25% zoom and increase the zoom as you add details and blend. also try to use the biggest brush for what you need (instead of many small strokes). I know - the theory is simple
keep it up
Great to see that you are doing studies. I bet you'll improve a lot, fast. Something I notice about you stuff is the lighting. Keep in mind that the planes that are tangent with that light source, will be where the core shadow will be. Planes that are 90 degrees to the light will be the lightest.
I just did a quick little paint over on your last work to show what I mean.
http://img148.imageshack.us/my.php?i...over001rl7.jpg I didn't bother to fix the anatomy or anything (maybe because I suck at anatomy). Just wanted to show that a consistent light source shows form. If it's not consistent, it will just look wrong. Hope it helped

Btw, I'm 16 too![]()
thanks for the crits guys![]()
@realextension: thanks man that really helped alot!, always looking for more digital painting help. I tryed to use that method on these next to studys.
@zelda_geek: yer I see what you mean, after looking at the paintover there were places in my painting that lacked depth/form. appreciate the crits.

had a crack at designing some characters today...
good work on the studies, but make sure that when you're working from a photo or whatever, that you're actively thinking about what you're doing and why. You can even take small liberties to enhance what you're doing (like exaggerating the poses a bit to make them more fluid). Sometimes that helps to really solidify what you're studying. The character design silhouettes look interesting but the heads look large, not sure whether or not that's what you're going for. Keep it up!
thanks for dropping by Blackguy. I see what you mean by really paying attention to the study's and really taking information out of it, ill keep this in mind
portrait and more designs... let me know if the designs interest you or not, or if there boring or how i could improve them. anyone.
