not so crap! the face could use more likeness, but the hair and the textures of the clothes are fantastic! Also, awesome creatures and landscape studies

All your recent stuff is looking good, but there's something off about each one.

For example, on the horse it looks like the horse is about to fall over, and the background looks odd against that grey of a horse. The face on Game of Thrones guy looks a bit off too. Like sort of unrealistic compared to the rest of the image. I could say this is stylistic, but then I would have to say that you need to stylize the entire image.

Just keep on going and you'll end up amazing.

Great studies. Your drawing and rendering are both very high level, but I think one thing you could improve, which is especially evident in your non-reffed stuff, is your overall lighting. You're not making much use of hard-edged, cast shadows, and in general your lighting is all fairly soft, which gives it a feeling of being ambient and directionless. The drawings are very well executed and rendered, but some of the lit areas and the shadow areas are muddled together.

I suspect this is a combined byproduct of going straight to the fine rendering before you've fully worked out your lighting, of using mostly small, soft brushes, and of not being fully conscious of your value control. That's pure speculation based on my own struggle with those things, but if you want to look into them, search posts by CA user gregpro and read his paintover tutorials (he only has about 20 posts so they're easy to find). He covers all these things like a master.

Anyway, really fantastic painting overall, and enormous improvement from a year ago.

I think the worm creature needs variation more than detail. You have some nice textures there but it looks a little boring. You could add some tentacles or some teeth/spikes or some kind of pattern. Get inspired by looking at pictures of animals, deep sea animals are always a nice inspiration for scary/alien creatures.
