Have cool skintones and interesting colours. With some of them there are a few proportion errors but its all looking pretty good at the moment.
Keep it up man.
I'm in LOVE. with your use of color.

Your color palettes are great. Focus on tightening up your proportions a bit. Keep posting!
cool suff like the girl with the shadow demons
Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I'm trying to learn how to exaggerate and twist proportions to suit my subject matter or to enhance a composition, but no matter the intention if it doesn't look right, it's wrong. I'll work on it future posts![]()
The palettes of images 1, 3 and 5 are sick.
I'd like to see you spend a little more time on some of these though. The orange in the last pic is too intense and is rather distracting. That image seems to be your weakest in terms of anatomy, color, and formalism. Try converting the image to grayscale to see if the forms are reading properly.
Overall, you've got some nice workIMO, you should focus on more life studies to learn your anatomy.

I'm digging the style. Flat in places and three dimensional in others, very hip. This one especially. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1212280332
Looking forward to seeing more of your artwork Vandal!

Again, thanks for the feedback. Havoc-Dm, you're right about the last piece, I'm definitely not satisfied with it. I actually do a ton of life drawing and painting, and will continue to do so. You're right that I could carry through more of that experience to my conceptual work though. I didn't intend to post any of these because the image quality sucks, but I guess I might as well.
quick sketches of some of the nonthreatening miscellaneous female characters for my DEEP concept.

I like your stuff and your stile. Good work![]()
Just making myself sketch when I feel crappy.
hey your off to a great start, i really like how expressive your style is and i really like the painterly feel your paintings possess., also your use of color is very nice, i do have to agree w/ the others who pointed it out about the slight proportion issues but still very nice stuff, keep it up.
To live is to create, to create is to live. Without art and music, I do not know how I would get by in my day to day life.

A very messy, very muddy, very unpolished and unfinished sketch. Practicing environment concepts and painter, two things at which I am very inexperienced. The beginnings of an environment concept for the DEEP contest.
Love the drawings and paintings, very impressive.
Great job on your work for the deep.

all of your work just inspires me to death. I think I may have to do a Shakespeare piece now haha![]()
Very interesting stuff you got here, actually they are really nice.
The way you convey those colour with strokes are brilliant, I love the rawness. This is a promising sb to me, I'll keep my eyes on it.
So here's my first attempt at a CHOW entry. The theme is "Icarus"
I have a lot of trouble when it comes to perspective and foreshortening of figures when I don't have a reference of the exact pose, which is why I chose to do this pose knowing I couldn't find any exact reference. Critiques and constructive criticism is awesome, and draw-overs are good as well.

There's some really nice stuff in here. Love your choices in color palettes.
bookmarked! i saw your chow and i loved it! your paintings have a level of sensitivity that I am striving to get to, I think it is your colour palette that does it. i'd love to see more, please.
any help with my digital painting would be greatly appreciated![]()

Hey! Check out my blog here
Nice technique, Nice images. Theres def a bit of knowledge there from working with traditional mediums, no? ? If there is then please do show them, keep up the good work man ;-)
Some really inspirational stuff. Great work!
Cup_of_Tea?- Thanks a lot! I'll definitely keep an eye out for your make and make suggestions wherever I can.
Eerin- my color choices are something I'm sometimes not so sure about, glad to hear I'm pulling them off alright!
AmontilladoAg- thanks and I will most definitely post more
RandAlThor- You're right, I do have a background in traditional media and try my best to apply whatever knowledge I've acquired from that to my digital work.
muzzoid- thanks!
Ok, now on to the stuff. I've been doing a fair amount of sketchbook work over the summer, but I'll have to wait until I'm back at school and have access to a decent scanner to post that. Until then, here's my finished Icarus piece, still kind of a speed painting, and some sketches for this week's CHOW, Red Sonja.
