I attribute this site as the big reason I've improved as an artist. And this site wouldn't be here if it weren't for you. I wouldn't have met some of the most amazingly creative, talented and bright people if it weren't for you.
So much thanks and hopefully you had the best birthday ever. You totally deserved it, man(ly).

Jason Manley? I love that guy!
Happy birthday, dude!
Not many people know this but I once met with Jason to do an interview on the company and forum so we could post it here, but some problems popped up and we never finished for some reason. I found what we had and transcribed it...just for his birthday...

I: Is this fuckin' thing workin'?
JM: The little light's on...is that good?
I: Screw it. We'll just do it and if it's not working, we'll just make up some lies later.
JM: Okay...
I: Today, we're interviewing the great Jason Manley, founder and CEO of Massive Black, one of the world's leading plumbing outlets...
JM: Uh...it's Concept Art.
I: It's not Massive Black anymore?
JM: Yeah, it is...but we do concept art, not plumbing...
I: Oh...sorry. My notes were upside down. Okay...first question. Is it true that you dropped out of school?
JM: Oh yeah. Fifth year.
I: Fifth?! You were in Graduate sch...
JM: No...elementary school. That whole reading-writing thing was a vivid pain in the ass.
I: Wasn't that a problem when you started your business?
JM: We thought it would be at first, especially with the banks, but it went really smoothly.
I: We?
JM: The other guys.
I: Who were?
JM: I really don't remember. We were drunk as hell at the time.
I: Tell me about it...
JM: What?
I: The banks.
JM: Oh. That went pretty well, considering. We went in and asked for some start-up credit to establish a law firm or something in Fiji, but didn't get a real nice reaction, so we huddled and came up with something else on the spot. Y'know...something the fat schlog could identify with, so I go, "Sorry. I meant whorehouse." and the suit said, "How much do you need, Gentlemen?" Piece o'cake.
I: You told him you were starting a cathouse? How much did you get?
JM: $41,000,000.00, unsecured. We asked for it in cash in some shopping bags.
I: Kewl! Then what?
JM: Well, we loaded up the car and set off to do some research because none of us knew anything about running a business like that, but ended up at WalMart instead because Leia couldn't read the street signs with her x-ray glasses on. Not to waste the whole day, we went in and looked around and--BINGO!--right in the middle of the toy department, it hit us. All those weird little character toys and video games. It was like the ultimate epiphany.
I: That's when you all decided to open a concept studio?
JM: Why would we do that? No. We were gonna redo Star Wars, but with plastic toys instead of real people.
I: ...uummmmmm...
JM: Yeah...that's what we thought, too, when we sobered up...
I: Hey, I wasn't being critical...I'll bet it would have been a great series of movies...
JM: You really ARE an idiot, aren't you?
I: Usually. Moving on--most of the people already know the history of Massive Black and the CA Forum, so how about we get into some personal things? Like...those legs in the black mesh stockings topped off with that Japanese maid's outfit poking out from under the couch...I assume that's the lovely...
JM: ...Andrew. Yumiko welded the doors and windows shut but he got in anyway. I think he came in through the dryer vent...
I: Ah...so those luscious warm mounds pressed up against my shoulder blades must belong to...
JM: Sorry--it's Coro's ass. He's lookin' for his shoes.
I: Ugh... He moved in, too!?
JM: Nah...he was hiding under the sink when we moved in. Took us forty pounds of those little pink sugar wafers to get him out.
*BEEP*
I: Shit...the recorder's running out. You got any spare tape around?
JM: What the hell do I look like? A drugstore? Maybe we can finish this up next week...okay?
I: No sweat...and YEAH YEAH, I'll remember to put some clothes on fir...
