The Artist's Manikin To Get You Excited For Anatomy

Checkout the detailing for the sternomastoid muscles. Holy shit that's pretty good. And the clavicles! I'm not gonna mess that up again in my drarings.

Just carrying them around in public is nothing. The ball-joint doll fandom has creepier things, Naomi and Grimm for starters.

That's pretty horrible. Cold shiver time. I don't think it's very accurate either.

Aww, mazouko! I had enough vague ideas about the serious WEIRD of that fandom...I did not need to see & read dolly porno! x_x Stupid ED and their amusing articles.

EDIT: The Art Buck models aren't really that well proportioned either. Definately not a sub for the real thing.

Wow. That looks beautiful. New shipping date is in August, maybe I'll get one.

The clavicles are actually "s" shaped and are not on one plane- if you draw them as if they go straight across, the figure loses movement and flow and starts to look rigid and dead. We have the model you like, Midgard, and it is good. However, I feel it lacks the elegance of the older models.

The Dickblick manikins are meant to be used for posing purposes, similar to the wooden manikins. The model in Rusty Baby's post is for anatomical reference only, since it is not poseable.

Creepy. Interesting as works in and of themselves, but I'd rather draw from a well-sculpted $10-$15 action figure with good articulation

A bit odd that they decided to change that then. It's great that you have one of those at Max the Mutt, I can't even fathom my old art schools having these kind of props.

What's interesting to me was the mention of magnetic removable parts, but as it turns out it's not nearly as elaborate as I hoped it would be. Only the arms and the genetalia are removable, which doesn't sound as useful compared to, let's say, being able to temporarily remove the lower abdomen and gluteus maximus to look at how the hipbone is constructed and how it 'sits' in the body.

I dunno, I kinda like the one in the boxers.
But the nudie is creepy and reeks of Micheal Jackson fare. These are probabaly used more as a fetish item as opposed to a good anatomical source, or at least should be imho. However, if the protruding clavicle and neck muscles helped you out with your own drawing process, more power to you. =3
    Sketchbook~Any comments much appreciated

Also known as Magamish, not to mention countless other "Maga" variants. It's an addiction.
