    hmm
    well you asked for crits

look like you anatomy studies are comin along well keep at em
the emo dude lookslike he needs some anatomy under him.. amd his right foot is backwards. I d like to see you do more full page type images where you use composition and create and entire space rather than just scattering studies about.
Like the ferocious frogpossum, ist a decent composition too

keep it up and welcome to irc

thanks chaosrocks, I do studies when I get a few minutes during the week so I end up with alot of random little sketches, I only get time for a proper painting with colour and composition on the weekends lately. I would really like to develop my skills so that I can create art works with composition and depth rather than just designs or studies.

I tried to put alot of stuff Ive been reading about and heard about here into action in this piece. Theres warm and cold colours placed strategically to create depth, theres alot of funky anatomy hehe, theres some 2 point lighting and shadows etc. Im not sure how well this turned out but Im keen to get it over with now and start on the next thing, so Im pretty sure this is it finished for this character painting. Is there too much blueish? is it not warm enough on the character?

This is for the CHOW DEEP challenge.

Thanks Hfix I know that piece is strong but its also just a copy of a photograph and I know Im good at copying. I feel the art I do which is just copied is less creative and less meaningful than something I create myself. I want to get really good at drawing my own creations.

Im entering the 3D art category on gameartisans comicon art challenge

I see here big variety of techniques. That's great. I dig the design for DEEP and all 3d stuff.
Try to paint more in greyscale. When you'll learn to use full range of values, the color stuff will look much better too.

    Cheers.

I know that its the best in this thread but thats simply because it isnt a sketch and most of the rest of my digital paintings are sketches or studys. I could achieve that same level of quality by just spending more time on each piece but theres no point if its just a sketch. Just wait till I find something worth spending time on
