    pbrush rediscovery

Ive just rediscovered the default paint program for windows.. it forces you to work with a limited color set and tends to never lag your computer, so its very good for sketches:

after default sketch, went into PS for blending/filter/touchup

trying to add more atmosphere to my work...heres an hour study of my snake-archer d00d.

    detail of init. sketch:

and then PS coloring machiavellian style (filters, curves, line tools, lighting effects used )

then after about another hour of blending..

if anyone's interested, I can go more in-depth into what I do exactly..[

Sure! I would love to hear more about your process! I'm always interested in seeing how other artists do things... usually you can pick up some new techniques to play with I like the unique quality of your sketches... the line work, the colors, the brushy strokes... very nice!

thanks for the compliments. Right now I rely mostly on color and linework. about half the sketches here have been run through a lighting filter, which I think Im getting the hang of just now. I've made a quick tutorial of what Ive learned so far from experimenting...

I dont see filters as a crutch...just a tool to get the concept out more quickly. If anyone has any questions, PM me.

hey, nice! Thanks for the tut Yeah, I think filters can definately be a big help as long as you don't overuse them, and this looks nice... cool little trick, Hunger_Artist!

heres the finished ( I think) deal:

Im not sure if I should go back and fix the details and mabey try a hyper-realistic version...any comments and questions welcome!

Oo! I love the color on the last one. Very nice color scheme I believe.

I would keep working on coloring, you seem to have a great imagination and the more practice you get the better. ^^
