hmm the ref girls are gorgeous !!!
and the design of the blue robot (older) is great too
    the rest is good too

for the battle scene, the lighting could be more harmonized. it's very hard since you're doing from mind ... i think your could treats it as one light color then add the rim light or the second light. like many does in tutorials

    gooooooooooooooooooooooood luck bro

Hey mate, good to see you still going! Your pieces are starting to look like everything in them belongs there. I guess you could say are starting to look more and more finished.

The colors, hardness of line, contrast, all that, are making the pieces better together!

    Hey bro

Sorry.. haven't been around in a while.. only just got a bit of break now from Uni work.

Mmm, what I notice is in your characters at the moment, try get a feeling of weight back into them. Like angle the pelvis and shoulders to suggest more weight, or straighten a leg, that sort of thing.

    Keep well for now bro.

Awesome as always. Don't know what else to say. You really earned your 5 stars, I wonder when 6 stars will come...

I love the lady with the blue background and the barechested-cape-wearing-guy. Very intresting with the perspective on the last one.

Yo Kostas, how are you? Hope everything ok ). However, even though I don't want to say it and sound like an ass, but I think that you haven't progressed in a while. Well you've done some great rendering and texture work... But it ain't new level, and anatomy doesn't impress. But I know you're great artist, and you take critique well, so you won't hold grudge. And I know that you will always rule, and we'll nail MountainWheel game. Cheers mate!

edit: architectural elements are going great )

Wow, thanks for the composition stuff, kingkostas! Waiting for more things like that hehehe

By the way, what's the difference happen between "non rendered color below value linework" and "rendering lines and color" on post #2570 (previous page)? Wondering about it because the small size made me hard to see the difference...

great colors over here, and more dynamic gestures.
It´s dificcult to mesure the level improvement from outside but i believe you advanced in many fields. Most of times you have to bring the knowledge to fruition, it takes some time but the results are here. Sometimes we do big jumps, sometimes little steps which are even more important. With the amount of work you produce a real improvment is logical. And don´t forget that "finish" some pieces also brings a necessary knowledge too. Just keep up friend, you´re doing good
Just a suggestion, in the picture of the green elves with 2 swords, maybe i´d revise the chest zone, the line coming from the axilla seems to be wrong (foreground char)

i like that last thing you uploaded - the rendering looks great, it has a lot of form! Would like to see that one taken further if you have the time. Thanks for the really helpful paintover on my thread, I have no idea how you made the first one (with the red background) but it helped a lot!

Whoa look how good the rendering is on the last one. The shoulders for example are really 3d, yu really seem to know how to use lighting for that. The colours seem a bit weird to me though, but i think you are just experimenting here and there. Keep up man, and thanks for stopping at my sb.

ThomasM-Thank you very much Thomas.I duplicated the image and then i went to image adjustments and i picked gradient map... from the list i chose the red and green to enchance the contrast and i after that i changed the layer blending mode to hmm maybe difference cant remember right now.Experiment with these things to help u in your research
knut--Thnx very much Dhmhtrh.Hahaha i know i just made a funny brush with some hue jitter to get some random color base, but i like it sometimes.I worked the formes with picking areas with lasso tool and then applying values, with a soft brush, on the selection. In that way i was able to maintain hard edges while working with soft brush to quickly put soft graduations that i needed for these smooth surfaces
Virg-Thank u very much mate!!!You were always improved , u have great skills

okkkk here something more, today i wasnt out to drink to i had time to draw more .Also i am working on the artorder challenge piece that will probably be one very finished piece , since its already on a nice towards finished stage.

    Lets keep up!!!

Wow. Loving it all to the max!

Coro Kauffman and Frank Frazetta had a miracle baby, and his name is Kostas

    LOL

Only two crits, one general and the other specific. Generally...too many of these are left dangling, not quite finished.
Which is okay, you can still finish them...but it makes me mad I want to see the full glory right now!

Technical aspects all look super-good. The only specific crit I have is on this:

    http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1289007363

Her hands look a little 'mannish'. It may be just that they're too big? Compare the ratio of the hand to the face.
sketchbook...a kitten dies every time you don't comment

the imagination is taxed to its utmost – and will
produce its richest ideas. Given total freedom,
the work is likely to sprawl.”

    Wonderful stuff mate!!
You're still mastering the volume rendering!
If you're looking for a reference for the mask setup in the last sketch in post #2586, you should check out the helm of the champion gladiator in "Gladiator" (not Crowe's character, the guy on the left here: Image!)

Anywho, marvellous work on the characters as always!!
    Keep up the great work!
