    Digital Book With Digital Sketches

I guess you can take a look at my junk? It's not very good, but I am trying to learn. Most of everything you are about to see is just from the last few weeks because I bought some of the GnomonWorkshop Dvds and I got inspired to start drawing again.

I highly Recommend them you guys. Anyway so I used some brushes from one of the dvds you may or may not recognize so I don't take any credit for them, but most of the paintings I try to use my own brushes so yeah. Also there is one or two plates from the dvd in here that I used to paint on so don't flame me if you notice that it came with the dvd and it was good practice. Oh who cares it's a sketchbook.

    Okay ♥

Well I think that is all, but I'm trying to stay inspired so expect more soon.

Thanks for you who leave comments and crits to fuel my inspiration.

P.S.- GTA4 is kinda distracting me though

You've got some nice stuff here, Chris! I'm a bit new to photoshop, so I can't give you much advice there, but it looks like your experimenting a lot with the different brushes. Anyway, have fun with that and post more soon!

Hey thanks jamesy! I have been practicing quite a bit the last few weeks. Everything you see here is about all the photoshop I've done other than a few pointless scribbles here and there so I'm still a super noob at it. I think I'm learning pretty fast though. I've been reading lots of books and watching tons of dvds... it seems to be helping wonderfully.

I'm just trying to learn like crazy until i can afford to go back to school.

    Thanks again!

damn dude, you look like you're on your way to some good enviros. doing way better at this sci-fi scenery thing than i am. only crit is that when you go to render the details in them you losr the hard edges. ifeel like the fuzziness is taking away from all that good depth of field you've got goin on. nice work. post more.

This is crap... i know, but it's still practice. I've been very busy the last few days so this is all I've really had the time for.

I kinda like the feel of the last two, they remind me of the halo universe. I noticed with the last piece and an earlier piece that the birds all have the same position (with some just angled a little). You'll probably notice from life that groups of birds don't flap their wings in perfect sycronization. Anyway, I'm probably being nit-picky, so just keep them coming!

yeah you are partly right, because i did these bird think they are like hawks or something and birds like that hardly flap their wings at all. They just ride the wind all day.

I noticed this because I watch them fly around over a field behind my house every time I go out and have a smoke.

Good eye though I give you credit for noticing that.

This was about a 10 minute pen sketch i decided to throw some paint on. Just goofing around really. I'm thinking I'll do something much like this but refine it way more.

As this is now I think it is horrible, but hey I post it anyway.

Hi Chris, nice stuff, putting that dvd to good use I see. I agree with what D.Focus was saying, you seem to lose your edges a bit which I think is caused from relying too much on low opacity brushes.

Looks like some nice stuff, that wacom is sexy. All I can say is paint from life, sometimes I see tonal inconsistancies and edge issues. Soft edges can be your friend, but you want to use them in the right places. Also on that Halo pic, even though Im sure it was just for fun, again the values are weak on the gunfire shot and the edges should be harder from such a strong light. Keep at it man, lookin great!

Grafguy- Thanks, the church was a pen sketch during a boring lecture at school witch i decided to color a few weeks ago. I kinda like the way it looks I'm sure I'll do some more like that soon.

MonkeYoakum- Thanks for the helpful tips. The halo thing was just me being goofy, but you're totally right about everything. I'll work on that as good as I can. Thanks.

    Rachnir- Thanks Mate!

    dchan- Thank you.

Okay thanks for your critz and comments guys i'm going to try and work on this stuff right now as I think of something to draw.

    Thanks again!

    Gtgamewizard- Thanks mate!

    Surion- Thanks a lot!

Here are some really lame and old sketches I found from a couple years ago... I though my Sketchbook lacked some actually scans from a real sketchbook.

Anyway there is a whole load where this came from only my scanner is very slow and I only have the time to scan a few here and there.

    Thanks again!

Beware these sketches are horrible but old too, I'll update with newer stuff later today perhaps.
