    Hey Jamie

I like how you're thinking of the strokes in the latest solider piece. You even have the reflection on his blade blocked in there. I would've perhaps worked on the image as a whole, as you have quite a lot of detail in his face, whereas the other elements feel more blocked in. But as a study, yeah, it's good, I like the lighting on his helmut and how you suggested fur on his hood.

Thanks man, might try doing that so it'll give me a kick in the balls and force me to work more
Like the soldier study. The face looks real good tho you might add darker values to help define the form

looking very good man, your hard work is definately paying off!

so many digital studies and the characters are looking better and better.

You are progressing at an impressive pace and with lots of enthusiasm,
and i envy the dedication you put in these painting studies.
I like the design you show in some of your characters and your work is sure to blossom soon if you keep working like this.

Just as a suggestion, make sure you don't lose track of the drawing underneath all the painting.A great drawing with sloppy paint might look decent enought, a good painting with a sloppy drawing won't, IMHO.
The last knight character looks great, but could have looked better with a bit more work in the preliminary phase of construction, to avoid some tangents (example:waist-cloth with right arm elbow-guard thing), better describe form (ex:right side shoulder guard), anatomy (not bad at all in this one, but still a bit too oblong, even for a tall person, unless he's a really, really tall person ) and some more research (example: his left elbow guard looks quite weird and uncomfortable, his plate mail-looks like the points should be pointing down instead of up).Its really small things, but there's a practical reasons for small details of that, and leaning "how (and why) stuff works" only adds to the design.
All these are not nitpicks directed to that particular piece of yours but general suggestions about things that you could keep in mind, and gradually remember to focus on,while working on a piece, until it becomes instinctive (and therefore, effortless)

Sorry for the long blurb, keep updating!

    Yo OmertA,
After checkin out you're progress I feel like I need to post more than once a week! About the lighting of metals; that is a whole area I haven't delved into yet. However, if you were to buy some items for reference you could check out Bud-k.com for affordable weapons. If you want the real deal you could can go to http://www.museumreplicas.com/.
Don't know if that helps, but cool stuff non-the less. Peace.

Congrats on getting the two commissions! The characters and studies are looking good. I hope we'll get to see the rest as you go. There's nothing quite like a focused project (a paid one at that) to get you to push yourself and do even better. Your recent stuff looks great especially the colors and tones. Thanks for dropping by my sb by the way. In regards to your question, I really don't have any advice for approaching faces except things that people have pointed out to me, make sure the construction and structure is solid and find features and patterns you like and emphasize them. Other than that you already know, study study study Cheers and keep it up! Will definitely be back to see more!

    Thumbs up Hello Jamie!

You know what I think about you. You are awesome. The thing that impressed me the most (and still does) is the fact that you are already so good. And I told you this before: keep on working like you did and you will be rich and famous

    Your progress is just inspiring.

Thanks for all your help and KEEP IT UP.
