Thank you everyone for the lovely comments its encouraging.

deerinheadlights- will try and render out those figures hes looking at. It's almost defeating even trying to start rendering one of those figures out of the hundreds hes looking at XD

fudgeloaf-Yeah I think graffiti is a good way to practice or warm up your lines before going into different work.

Silwynar- Yeah been slacking on my anatomy studies gotta break out the books again.

sanakris- Atmosphere that's something I've really never studied into will keep that in mind. Thanks for the crit always appreciated

P- Hey Pijus for those strokes I'm using some default brushes and some square oil brush I found on deviant art along time ago. I try to experiment with different flow and opacity settings sometimes but generally like to have my flow and opacity at 100% with pen pressure on. Hope that answers your question.

    ================================================== =====
Here is my natural light still life I've been working on.
still cant say its finished. I rendered to much on a lot of stuff. Deadening any focal point. But overall I've had a good time on it natural light is interesting!

    Hey!

    Stilllife went really nice.
It only looks a little bit confusing because there are such much things in so much colors.
The eye doesn't really know where to focus first.
Also the reflected LED light on the skull seems a little bit too strong in my opinion.
Anyway great job and this was really hard work i think.

    Keep it up!

Fantastic study Jamie, the amount of details great, and it looks like you've up-ed your rendering skills too.

But if you want to make it a little bit more than a study, I do suggest you add a distinctive focal point. Its not hard, in this 2 second paintover I just added a blur mask and defined the edges on the bust. But obviously I'm not commending the use of cheats like masks haha.

jamie jamie jamie-- that is one hot still life very ambitious study and i commend you for tackling such a challenge :3 especially with natural light! i hope you didn't clean it up yet-- maybe you could tweak a few things to your liking assuming you remember what time of day you did this ><"

looking forward to more my 505 brotha!

Hats off to you, my friend. Great job with the stilllife. Minor crit about the tangents, cause there are couple quite distracting ones: between the human skull and computer, and also between that animal skull and the broken vase.

    Keep it up.

That last still life is baffling. Great use of different textures, seeing this makes me feel a little guilty for avoiding still lifes. xD

Anyways, brilliant stuff- keep it up! yeahhh!

What ismo & Matt said. Also other than the light from the computer there's not much reflected colour from one object to another. Look again and look harder.

Lots of dedication in here. I admire your patience for detail. I would try to make the lines in the imagination characters more varied - fast vs slow, angular vs curved, long vs short etc. That could give more organic and interesting look.

Really nice still life, I saw it when you first posted it and it inspired me to do one myself

I also skimmed through a couple of pages before this one and I noticed a really nice use of color on that gladiator digital and that rough little deer digital you did. I need to work on my colors ha. Keep postin dawg

That study KICKS ASS. The second close-up is so interesting.
The others already caught everything that I could see myself to crit (and some stuff I didn't even notice), so there's just praise from me. It's awesome to see your stuff again

hücumkedi-Yeah colors always have a hard time with that always interesting

Valoo- Thanks for dropping by there were allot of places where I kinda rushed and I messed the focal point up big time. But overall I think I learned something from this still life.

JailHouseRock2- Matt! whats up man? thanks for the paint over defiantly helped me out alot. I'm going to be keeping and eye out for focal point now in my work.

fudgeloaf- Hey man honestly dont know how long I worked on that still life. But I know I started it around the end or middle or winter and finished when spring hit. Probably the most time I've ever put into a study.

teapo-yeah unfortunately I cleaned that still life up Mike got burned out on it XD Wish I would have left it there are a ton of things that pop out at me. Hope all is going well man.

    JohnSKxoxo-Thanks John and will do.

Vodus-Yeah still life's man there a challenge but that's kinda what makes it fun.

ismo- Tangents people have been mentioning that alot to me will have to keep a eye out for that more. Thanks for the crit ismo

jon norton- Been trying to incorporate the more loose flowy marks from the line work to my final stuff but will fail at it : P thanks for stopping by Jon

Farvus- will try to vary my line work more thanks for that crit man. Lines are defiantly really fun to do, pretty interesting how much information you can get out of one line.

Lang Oulk- hm not to sure if it is quarts but it is some sort of weird rock crystal haha.

Ariel9- Thanks Ariel yeah wanted to post some close ups to kinda show how abstract it all kinda is up close. Hope all is well.

And thanks JohnSKxoxo, Vodus, Cerasela,jeremygordon89 ,Xavvaniv, Velocity,in2eternity, [ste], Forrest_I for the compliments it's always appreciated

It sure has been awhile since my last post I've been in a traditional drawing and painting phase but still need to get pictures of all my studies.
Been working on this imaginative painting trying to put my studies together. Allot of stuff wrong but it's been fun and challenging.

Love love love the tilted motion in this picture. It really gives the horse movement and you can actually feel it when you look at it. Love all the details, the skull garland, the skeletons rising on the ground, the helmet design..etc. Great job!
