Finished up the White Wizard, quite happy with it. And I'm just gonna throw in a sci fi soldier guy whose design makes no sense, haha.

Totally love your thumbnails, a lot of those have a wonderfull potential as finished pieces.
Your color work is solid as well, all your hard work makes me realize what a slacking bum i am.

Thank you for a visit in my sketchbook, aprecieted.

I'm totally digging that wizard, she's captured in a momentum.
I saw many illustrations of thats or which felt extremely posed and studio like.
Your is great, but i have a strong feeling that some kind of foreground element would help to build the depth a bit. Maybe some part/strand of her's with some motion blur for dynamism? You decide

    Oh yes, 5 stars, definitely.

Not totally sold on how the white wizards legs connect to her torso, and the right side of her back seems to extend too far, making the armpit quite large. The flesh tones and reflections are pretty nice looking. Keep up the work

Feil Magnus: Thanks a lot, I had a lot of fun doing those thumbnails!
Icecold: Thanks a lot man! Yeah, you're right about the depth thing. I think the part of her cape thing that is in the lower right corner could overlap more and take up a little more space on the canvas. Glad you liked the piece!
jedininjaman: You're totally right about the leg, didn't put a lot of research into that. You could be right about the ribcage as well, I'm not sure if it's too broad, or if the armpit area just looks wonky though. Thanks for the crits!

Here's some Bridgeman arm studies and some random nude studies, before I go off on an army camping trip into the frozen hell that is Norway's forests.

Oh man, awesome, incredible and superb!
The female wizard came out great. Besides the sexy high heels the lighting there is really nice and atmospheric. Thank you, you're a great inspiration.

And keep your hands warm, my friend. You'll need them!

yeah, I have to agree with Ciaffaglione there about the remarkable improvement from 2008. The skeleton dude looks really awesome and should be made into a more refined illustration.

ha, nice posture on that last guy. i like his corset mouth

artorder entry came out sweeeet. some areas have a definite traditional media feel in the way the value changes are handled- particularly the legs and clothing. good stuff, mang.

Love the landscape studies, the Howl portrait, and laughing about the transition from the Bridgeman studies to the nudie doodles. There's only so much focus one can give to Bridgeman before the mind starts to wander back to the ladies.

    S Ciaffaglione: Thanks!
Mikko Voipio: Thanks, yeah I'm liking that one too, might work on it some more.
    Monsieur-Beefy: Thanks man!
sourgasm: Thanks, glad you like it!
DStraX: Haha, takk for critten på han skjelettduden, den er jo helt utvasket. Enig med at det området på White Wizard-illustrasjonen ikke ser så bra ut, hadde en del problemer med å få det til å se bra ut.
Alexanderjr: Thanks, I'm really enjoying your sketchbook as well!
    Wetterschneider: Haha, totally. Thanks!
ChuanMing: Thanks. Yeah, I'm currently serving my obligatory year in the army, got about 4 months left of my service. Not too bad though, seeing as I usually have every other week off.

Here's just a sketch-preview. And a contrast boost on the skeleton piece, since it was waaaay too washed out.

Sorry for the lousy update, but I'll be going into the frozen wastes of Norway next week. Going to do a more proper update next week though, most probably with a decent-ish amount of ballpoint/pencil sketches.

There's something a little skinny about that skeletonnor-guy (no pun intended). What i mean is it could some more texture and more edges bleeding into eachother. But apart from that observation, you're doing pretty damn well i should say!

    FUSHANDCHUPS: Cheers man!
    zelda_geek: Thanks, here it is!
walnut: Yeah, it could certainly do with some more refining. All I did since sketching it out was use the levels tool, due to its washed-out-ness. Thanks!

Here are the sketchpages, some really wonky stuff in there.
