Chaosrocks, Rustikof, Stephen, thanks for handing my ass to me! Wish I was more of a fight.

Didn't really have a chance to say this yet, but I couldn't have been more impressed with the hard work and sheer kickassery of everyone's entries. It's obvious that this time around we're going to have us a pretty spectacular LMS.

Wow. For all 3 threads. Just... awesome. The sheer variety of styles, ideas and presentations is mind boggling.

Thanks Cody for putting all this together. And thanks to all who participated. Especially match 56, so glad to see we all made it here

First pass, these are what stand out: Form, lovely idea. Dave Palumbo, I knew yours was going to rock, but that's a fabulous take on the theme! Wassermelone, something about that image really takes me, not sure whether its colour or emotion, or the combination of both. Shelly Wan, I've adored your work since I first saw it last LMS, no exception here, beautiful as ever! Grendel Grack is that traditional or digital? Either way it's some of the most beautiful colours I've seen! Carotello, amazingly rendered piece, as ever, and a great idea.

Great work all round though, congrats to all who finished.

adam: you rocked the shit. This is a real breakthrough for you, and you have given Billy a bar to reach. Although, he's really lazy so the bar will probably just hang there untouched. Kudos!

zephyri: It's watercolor and colored pencil. Glad you like it

All: I'm very impressed with the stellar quality of work from everyone. It is an honor to compete with such talented artists.

    Good stuff

Grats to everyone that didn't puss out and painted a piece.

    My favorites:

nicolas- great textures and love the coin portraits. interesting that you didn't go as designy as usual, but it looks great.

M.C.Barrett- great perspective, like the concept

EAD- nice image, looks final fantasy-ish

Dave Palumbo- great way to solve the subject matter and nice rendering. I think you just wanted to render a bunch of naked ladies, hehe

prostate sunrise- sweet image, love the pack horse

docrob- nice story. dig the king crawling away, and the throne in the bg

Jens- like the story here too

Idiot apathy- I like the piece. I think it would draw the attention to the girl more if you took out some of those bright highlights to her right, and maybe toned down the one on the ground too. The eye gets confused as to where it should rest. You've got a nice swirling composition that would be helped by this too.

thom- cool concept, I like the figures in the foreground

    robogabo- nice rendering, man.

Shelly Wan- as always, a nice image

Now that I'm done with the I'll say good luck to everyone in the judging.

Oh yeah, thank you Cody for putting this shindig together! This is the first time I've done personal work in a long long time and it was really fun.

good job everyone. this was very stimulating. i hope to make it to the next round to keep going with some of these great people.

    of note to me:

Grendel grack - good to see you do something with your life, your excellence amazes me. dont get too cocky you still have to deal with Jay.

Shamagim - bunnies always a good call.

nicolas - well done, the red and composition are pleasing

prostate sunrise - wicked idea, good colors.

stephen - very james jean of you, means i like it.

    Pan - awe stuck.

Antti - liking it a lot.

to everyone else. Rock'n try. you all did great, but sometimes its the diamonds in the rough that i like.

and to Jason Rainville, good show, but we think to much alike and i am a bit creeped out. are you in my head or am i in yours?

    loving it!
Its like i have come home, only i hate being at home so by association i hate you.

Wow. This is only round 1. I think people who move on to round 2 are going to kick it up even more, seeing what the competition is doing this year.

There's no room for weakness. This is a hard round to judge, but the next few rounds are going to be exponentially more difficult.

I'm glad everyone in my round had the drive to get something in. No puss-outs there.

Everyone who participated can say they were a part of the LEGENDARY LMS 3, as it will come to be known in the months to come...

Congrats, all. I bet the puss-outs are feeling pretty bad right about now... "If only I had a professional mindset and approach to my work..."

Better luck...next...time...oh, wait, you're not allowed on the battle ground any more.

Well I saved 68 to my Last Man Standing Folder, Obviously as said many times before there were so many awesome entry's and Cody, you da man! If I had to choose one artist out of the lot (which could never be fair considering how good everyones was), I would probably go for Chans, theres just something about the way he paints with such a soft brush that brings his work to life for me. *studys his work*

Its been fun people! Looking forward to seeing the entry's for round 2!
    Peace!

    Sean

Edit : originally wrote 'Cody you do man' by accident, which isnt very nice! So changed it. Good thing I noticed that!
