Thanks for visiting my sketchbook.
I like a lot of your pictures. The moods come
out nicely. The snowy ones, the mountains.
The square one with the big sunny sky has
an interesting mood too.
Keep up experimenting, practicing.
Good luck,
Matej

my 2nd and 3rd acrylic attempts (one of em is more like playing around)
The colors are a bit wierd in both, the bottle is crooked and I'd like to do a small glaze on top with the bg color if I only knew how![]()

shrikant - will do!
Sedig -Yeah don't think I'm gonna touch the tank, I'll try to do the horizontal from the sea/beach thing tomorrow!
Faust - Thanks alot

hi,
Thnx for stopping by at my sketchbook. and thnx for the comment. Ik know practicing drawing objects and people from real life with a pencil is always a good way to learn. Im just kind of lazy to scan my pencil drawings since i dont have a scanner on this PC. so take a bit more time and im already short on time often.
but i just started posting so more will come. as well as actuall pencil drawings and acrilys paintings.
i dont have much to say s about your work that hasn't already been said here. nice colors. makes a lot of difference. but your figures and machines need better proportions to make them look believable.
good work though.
Hmmm the second one has great atmosphere and especially the eyes of those figures make for a nice mood, but you still lack a coherent brush-technique (My flaw as well, so don't worry) and you tend not to simplify where yo should. Like in the lower left corner. there is too much going on, even introducing a completely different light-scheme what damages the whole composition.
I like the first one very much!
Thx for stopping by my sketchbook you've got some great colours going on that's for sure. You anatomy and proportions need some work... but doesn't everyone's. However if your looking for some study resources check out my signature. Keep up the great work.
This account is dead but my sketchbook holds in it my humble beginnings

Most of your pieces are very vibrant in color, I think it looks beautiful man, keep it up!
dhchamp - Cheers, I'll try!
Faust - Indeed the character in the front doesnt really fit there. Though I did not plan for anykind of "piece" while doing it, so it's more like a page from a sketchbook with random things flying around. Simplify, that is one valuable thing which I've yet to learn about enough, lets hope there'll be progress in this part one of these days!
remmy - hey, thanks for the links, I'm going to attempt having a go with them (one didn't work though, or am I wrong?). Thank you for taking the time!
kelly x - thanks, I'm happy you like the stuff here
Chris Grisham - That I'll do, that I'll do
I scanned some stuff, most of them have bad reflections on them as I forgot to apply pressure on top of the sketchbooks so the paper wouldn't get all curvy :-\
So contrast is a little bit on the downside here - sorry for the huge images, the DL is still pretty bearable though

made on top of one of the pencilscans, it's stupposed to get a logo somewhere and some text thus the blank right side!

Hi lakka,
I can't tell if you do this or not but when you draw your heads it would help if you laid down the construction lines of the head. You seem to make the same mistakes with your heads so constantly checking the proportions of the features with an anatomy book will help you improve in no time.
Thanks for the reminder on heads peter, every now and then I totally forget about whats underneath the skin and just draw a bad face, lately I've tried to think about it a bit more, but I guess I should do an exercise along the lines of
Skull-->muslecs and tendons--->tissue to grasp the concept

Try to define more your pictures, they are too messy. Some of your pics have a very good composition, enviros are the best, but you have a big problem with proportions when you draw the human figure,so try to fix it.
Still working hard I see, I see some nice strokes in that latest environment, gives me some pointers as well, thnks!![]()
Faust - cheers
Camara - Yeah you got that right :p The problem is, the more I try to work on the problem, the more it comes up :-\ I kind of like a small "messy" aspect BUT I dont want it to be too messy for the viewer, so you wouldnt mind defining this a bit more?Anyhoo I'll try to fix teh messy and proportions one of these years!
I don't mean to sound like a dick but if someone is going to vote "Terrible" - you wouldn't mind telling what's the matter and how I could upgrade to "Bad", now would you?I know people wil go "wataflol he looks at the stars" but it does give a small hint on whether I'm going in the wrong direction or not, and theres 8 votes thus far, and with my peanutsized brain I am able to keep up to like, atleast 10!

Keeping up the good work, I see.
A few posts ago Camara made a point about messiness. It was especially evident in that massive SB dump, and it shows up again in the latest Hogarth studies. My thoughts: You are rushing your pencil work. Instead of taking the time to get it right the first time, you go over a line again and again until you end up with a very dark line that looks only okay. In other places you render far to quickly, without taking time to consider the structure underneath. Next time you tackle Hogarth studies, spend a bunch of time looking at it before you put pencil to paper. Really identify where the top of the head is before you strike the line to indicate its location. Don't use twenty lines when you could use only one. This is partly the source of the messiness. Just be a little bit more thoughtful and careful with your linework, and a little less aggressive with your rendering. Slow and steady wins the race. The time and effort you put into your pencil work will show through in your digital stuff.
Thank you Sedig, I'll have to try and stick with as little lines as possible to get used confident with lines. This is one of those things I hardly even realize by myself, it kind of like looking at clouds and seeing different things in them, sometimes when I draw a total mess I (and most likely only I) can see the image within it, and then it goes like "Umm yeah this is fine - new page" and nobody else even gets it.
Thank you for the motivation, I have some sketches from a cartrip I had coming back home, I tried to have cleaner lines in those too but, it doesn't really cut it.
One thing I'm having trouble with when drawing with pencil/coal and so on; I tend to make the images dirty while I work on a certain area, without noticing, then the contrast is gone and once again it's a mess even with that + the huge amount of lines I use. Blah.
Thanks again Camara and Sedig for bringing this up, self-critique just doesn't work for me -at all- when looking at quality, so it's a goldmine for me.
Camara: If you have something to add to what sedig said, please do!![]()
I'll upload some SB-things ones I plug a scanner in
