You're pretty good for a beginner. You don't suck! I've seen people who have been drawing years and don't apply what they learn correctly. If you are new and you draw this well, you are already to a good start. I love your last post. Both characters are intriging and the anatomy is pretty good

I think you already know that you can improve on your anatomy, however. You emphasized the knees a bit too much in the last post. And the left leg (viewer's right) knee is a bit off. Other than, I look forward to more of your drawings.

    Quoting Psychotime: More please?

hehe - i've been lurking around too - i realised your shooting your self in the foot to not post, getting criticism and feedback on your work is so important, fresh eyes really do help...
We're all still learning, once you stop learning you become stale i suppose..... when your studying the anatomy keep questioning why does it work and how..... What anatomy books do you have? there are some out there which arent very good, and some anatomy books are made strictly for medical purposes...try and get hold of some george bridgeman books ... andrew loomis's stuff is a godsend... dunno if im allowed to post this but hey...http://www.artcone.com/forum/andrew_...ads-t1772.html
Those black threshold drawings are pretty sweet....You have a good sense of perspective and placement of the objects in your work, ......try thinking in terms of how light reveals the form, and the understanding of value is far more important than color so you can try and feel for the full range of values within the scale...

    peace dude, keep em coming

Thanks alot polipol! Yes ive heard of loomis, and as the matter of fact ive read some of his books! i also have John Raynes' Figure drawing and anatomy for artist and all the Hogart burnes books. All good books as far as i know. I know that the value is far more important than the colors, but i always get driven to the colors when i should be studying value instead. Thanks a lot again!

    Hey there.
The last Potrait turned out pretty well but try to watch out for values .
It looks pretty flat in some areas and the neck looks pretty huge to me too .

Anyways, nice SB! .. loving the Sniper-bunny and the colors in this one are amazing(http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...arshland-1.jpg) .

    Should update my SB :X....

You got a nice start in your SB. The last portrait is looking nice. I can see you are tackling different aspects from your previous works, which is good when having fun and motivation. I second the comment about practicing value first because of its importance and it help you add more volume to your pieces. Just keep doing some studies and you will see how much you will improve! Keep em coming

you have some great rendering skills with the pencil I must say. Your digis are alos quite nice, but lack quite some contrast. Doing grayscale images definitly helps you to get a feel for that since it's mostly a value problem you have there. Also, as a little trick you can desaturate your colors from time to time to see where you need fixation.

    Keep it up!

Great work with the black and white hatching, It's something I'm learning from at the moment. I think the second dragon illustration from post #8 looks strong and good use of contrast with the darker hatching en plain white background.

Your last portrait looks nice for a speedpainting. Just be aware next time of the extra space between his nose and mouth, needs to be more closer to each other. The whole nose feels flattend especially for this 3/4 view. Doing a lot of portraits from life and from photo's will help you improve definately.

Protrait of myself, finally took heed of your advise and focused more on the value instead of colors, and made it B/W!

and here's a portrait of my best friend
