Why I dont seen this SB before???
Happy to subscribe
That smudge tool painting looks pretty interesting, I should try it myself.
About the sith pic.. it's really nitpicking but iirc lightsabers turn off automatically when they hit the ground. Just saying .
Soooo good man!!!
ho damn, those environments are truly...well...guess there are no words to describe it.
plz update more!
Damn I havent updated since july, its ridiculous... Thanks for the bump, Giow!
There you go with my current progress on this week's EOW...
...the topic you ask? "The Grand Gate to the city of Magicians" yeah I know, needs more gate, more magicians... lol .......
Anyhoo, I'll do more of an update later with replies too.
In the meantime, thanks for looking!
I definitely like that environment. It's mysterious and cool without being as over the top as a lot of people might make it, based on the topic.
Great sketchbook! Awesome colours! And one of the few artists who doesnt loose the lines when changing to digital. Thanks for sharing!
wow I checked you sb out over a year ago and now its got a lot more stuff, I really like
that eow a lot, your ability to show even a subtle amount of distance is so ...cool!.
God, are these replies late:
kikindaface: Merci, en voila deux trois autres.
Hideyoshi: Thank you!
DanielC: Whatever, don't sweat it, you're just forgetting how to spell in french, thats ok... : p
chuck18mp: Glad you do!
ditchman: Thanks! Unlike the mistake pointed out by Nyyti, that one was deliberate. Just a cheap way to make her face stand out.
Imaginary: Thats one cool compliment, thanks!
kingkostas: Thank you!
Verehin: Thank you for willingly asking to be informed of everytime I pollute the artworld, I'm doing my best!
nyyti: Yeah the smudge tool is fun. And good call, I didn't know that although it did feel out of place when I was painting it. I should have looked it up at the time. Well, better late than never, thank you.
D@niel: No I'm not but perhaps you could teach me?
Genius_Malignus: Thank you!
dessinateurimpulsif: Merci beaucoup!
TASmith: My name is Soufiane Mengad. I changed S.M to Soumeng as the latter's closer to my full name and sounds better, I believe. Plus you know what SM usually stands for.
squidmonk3j: Thank you! People would get a better idea of my not so amazing progress if I posted with some consistency but I can't get myself to. I go through those phases where I'm lucid how mediocre my stuff is and just can't remedy it, let alone show it.
B-Man: Stalk away, by all means!
PieMonster: Too nice, thanks!
Locus: Really? Thank you. But probably I should have made it still more legible.
soros: Thank you! Im not sure I get it when you say that I don't "lose the lines". ?
Sean McClain: Yeah checking this thread yearly is actually in pace with the updates, lol. Thank you.
Thanks all for the comments. I'm currently working for a French company on making a Tarot card game. I'm the one illustrating the whole thing which is pretty cool but so damn demanding and time consuming. Pays well though and artwise, it's infinitely greater experience than cashier. Hopefully I get to show a couple a cards this fall.
In the meanwhile:
Some random visual babbling
Quick tree photo study, enlightening. I'll try to do more.
Copy after Waterhouse. Far from close, next time maybe.
A personal thing, kinda old now. It got little love in FF, maybe too (boringly) contrived.
One of the couple of character paintings I did a few months ago for Anthropos Game.
Outdoor enviro, for Anthropos again, but more recent.
The finished EOW from my last post.
Kristin Kreuk portrait. Original photo here.
This is a partly nonsensical sketch I did a little while ago but that I never stopped liking.
An environment sketch. Perhaps I'll look up some reference and finish it.
Thanks for looking, any and all thoughts are welcome. : )

Wow, great stuff! Frequently jaw-dropping enviroments.
Thanks for the updates! I answered via PM.
some totally good color studies in front (page1). and later on... wordless... these are all fantastic. You're a master!
incredible enviro works..
woah, sweet update man! Loving the colors and the subtlety in that girl portrait so much!! amazing work
Very nice. Why would you be reluctant to post? I've seen people draw stick figures eating a banana, and people went ape shit over it...
I don't know, maybe I'm missing something...
